Tims Take

Impressive work by all but alas only one designer can win.

on Oct 15, 20080

Well, for me, this episode was the Project Runway first among Project Runway firsts! Why? Because I served as a judge for the first time (and, hopefully, the last time) ever. Here's the back story: Bravo and the executive producers approached me before our Bryant Park show to say that there may be a problem with our guest judge and, consequently, how would I feel about filling in. At first, my response was a roll-up-your-sleeves and "make it work!" form of positive thinking, but as I contemplated the reality of it, I pushed back and refused. Consider the following: I still had another visit to the designers that night and there would be a considerable amount of time needed to support them in the morning before the show. How could I be both a mentor and a judge and service their needs appropriately and responsibly? I believed that I couldn't. So, to make a very long story a wee bit shorter, we ended Thursday night's bevy of phone calls in the following way: Bravo and the producers would ardently search for a replacement judge and I would return to my work with the designers assuming that I would not be a judge If I were to be needed in that role, then I wouldn't be informed of that need mere moments before the show. Otherwise, I could be perceived by the designers (and anyone else mind you) as being duplicitous and insincere. That would never do. Furthermore, Kenley and I were engaged in an semi-incendiary relationship, and the worst thing that could happen would be for her to lose and have me perceived as being the reason why. Oy!

I was very happy that Gretchen won. You see, growing up I was a goth, and during the show Mondo did not produce a single item of clothing I have not seen in cheap alternative shops. I just felt like i was propelled backwards so, so many years into my teens.

But if you all do love Mondo so much, just look up your local clothes shop for alternative clothing! You'll be able to find exactly what you loved from Mondo :) I won't wear that kind of clothing again, but i encourage everyone to wear what they love!

I wasn't crazy about Gretchen's collection either. I thought she could have done so much better than she did. I agree that it was a bit boring, and I don't believe those shorts would have sold in a store. At all. But her clothes worked for a wider audience and an older audience, while Mondo's felt very, very teeny and, quite frankly, cheap. I don't want to see leggings and t-shirts on a runway!

Hello! I just wanted to give an idea for a challenge in a next season. Muslim wear challenge! Wouldn't it be nice to see how designers would come up with full covered designs plus a hijab? I think that would be a great challenge and also it could show that muslim women can also wear designer clothes :)

Thanks, Sofia

Dear Tim, I wrote thinking that they had disqualified Jeffrey Sebelia Season 3 by the comment of one participant before seeing the final chapter. Why are we so hasty in giving an opinion? hehe. I'm glad I could see of Sebelia coleccción loved and I loved Uli also were the two best. Participants are in good hands with you. I know you do everything at your fingertips for everything to be as unbiased as possible and I am happy and I do want to see all chapters. Success in your life greetings from South America.

All these years later I am still very upset that all the judges and Tim Gunn know, and knew, Jeffrey Sebelia could not have and did not sew the fashions he presented. They are so far, and so much better, from what he actually does. Shame on all the judges. Nina, really ??? Tim, really?? how easy is it to fabricate receipts from friends? I'm truly surprised you went along with it ...Kors and Klum I could see, they just want ratings, and paychecks ... Heidi I love you, but integrity was thrown out the window on this one. Uli should of won. But all 3 real true hands in budding designers were awesome ... I can't even watch future shows, cause real talent gets robbed for ratings ... sad.

Hello. I agree that Mondo should have won. Does anyone know if there is a new season in the works and when it will air? Thanks! I started watching the program on reruns and have bought the the older seasons and have become hooked on it. I love the show so much. My favorite is Tim Gun! He is such a gentleman! Thanks.

I cannot BELIEVE gretchen won.

Mondo was the clear winner.... if Nina and Michael were worried about it being costume-y they should look at designers like John Galliano, alexander Mc Queen , givenchy..!?!? Mondo could have been the next galliano.

Gretchen's clothes were boring and average, just like her personality. I would not buy one piece from her collection.

This was a horrible choice! How can I even have respect for these 'fashionista's' after this?!?! They talk about being original and having a wow factor etc etc... and then they pick gretchen!?

Mondo is clearly a genius and should have won.

You can find Gretchen's clothes everywhere, in every store. It was nothing special. Michael Kors was terrible, absolutely not sympatic. Horrible decision. sm

I totally agree!! I recorded the finale so I could watch it in peace. Boy, was I disappointed as well!! Gretchen's collection was one color/tone only. Michael C. was eliminated because of his one color beautiful collection! Gretchen's collection totally missed the mark, all of her safari (thunder run) pieces resembled the exotic $20 pieces found in large cities sold by street vendors! Really?? Mondo's collection was the "Wow" fashion that we watch the show for and hope that we could ever have such an opportunity/occasion to wear such pieces. I think Micheal and Nina totally missed the mark. I've lost faith in the show's purpose and intention. You may have just lost a season 9 viewer with this latest Project Runway winner...I just don't get it anymore? Are we looking for "real fashion forward wow" or "run of the mill granola clothing?"

SORRY to pile on judges - but you got it all wrong this time. Not only did I not like Gretchen's clothes but Mondo was clearly more talented and creative. Although his style is not mine either, I loved him. Andy was the only one that created anything I would actually buy - but I hated Gretchen's looks. If those are the "current trends" I won't be shopping. Really disappointing to end the season with such a bad decision. Not sure I'll watch next year.

I am glad that I am not the only one who was shocked by the fact that Gretchen won! Her clothes were not creative at all,but looked like remakes from the 60's and 70's. I was amazed she made it to fashion week at all- she should have been booted much sooner,if not for her clothing, then for her mean spirit and back stabbing. She always acted like she was worried about everybody else's designs, as if she was the only contestant who had any talent. Michael Kors and Nina have to go- they can't make up there minds about what they like and don't like. They tell the designers one thing one week and the next week the opposite thing. It's all about there own egos. I can't believe they thought wearing underwear out on the street with a big hat was fashion forward. Shame on both of them. I don't know any woman who would wear that! Mondo was creative and inspiring all season and Andy's collection at fashion week was beautiful and showed his range of talent. That is what they said they wanted to see, something different from him and when he gave it to them ,they dismissed him as if he was unworthy. So disappointing.

Gretchen didn't come up with ONE piece the whole season that I found pretty, or wearable or "fresh". It's not a matter of personal taste or style-she SUCKED. I have soooooo lost faith in PR. Maybe Michael Kors bullied the other judges into the "separates" choice because that's how he makes his LIVING...but as far as original style, inspiration, and clothes that stopped me from multi-tasking to walk closer to the TV and say "Ohhhhhhhhh" The choices were Mondo and Andy. I'm afraid PR suffered a bit from "the emperor's new clothes" and that irritating little Napoleon is Michael Kors. I'm gonna give Mizrahi and Iman a try now...too bad ya'll have direct competition after such a lousy season and runway selection!

Week after week Mondo's kind personality and innovative designs breathed fresh air into what was a ho-hum season. That Gretchen was declared the winner is unbelievable. Perhaps Michael and Nina wanted to throw a spanner in the works of what we all thought was a predictable outcome. I have lost most of my respect for Michael and Nina if that was their intention. Mondo was the darling of the series and deserved to win. I wish Heidi and Jessica could have been a little more forceful in making the right choice.

Denise Welsh

I suppose what I have to say may seem redundant, but Gretchen's designs were neither new or exciting. In my opinion, there wasn't an original idea in the collection! Granny dresses, hot pants & jumpsuits went out of style long ago. Gretchen's collection certainly doesn't work for today's woman (young or old). In addition to mimicing designs from the 1970's, Gretchen's choice of fabrics demonstrated her inability to recognize quality goods, which speaks directly to her level of taste. Unsophisticated, cheap and without structure or shape.

OMG! I agree 100%. I will not be watching next season because of this farse of a fashion show. You are so right to state that Gretchen should never have even been in the finale, much less won with her snooze of a collection. Like you, I know noone who would wear that mess that they correctly referred to as "Annie get your gun" a couple of shows ago. And yes, I am sure this did wonders for her already terrible attitude. I know Michael was fighting to make "ready to wear" more relevant, since that is what he does, but that does not make Gretchen's work stylish and I just don't know what Nina was thinking. If she thinks THAT is where fashion is going, her magazine needs to be looking for a new fashion director. But then again, she has never appeared that fashion forward to me anyway, so I guess I should not be surprised. Maybe Gretchen has blackmail pictures of someone and that is why they pushed her through, despite her many tragic looks.

B. Evans

Mondo was clearly the winner. Gretchen's design aesthetic is frumpy and boring. There was nothing fashion forward about her designs. I'm in my mid-40s. I would never where any of her clothes. Why would a woman wear something that would make her look older? Mondo's clothes were fresh and exciting. There were several pieces that I would wear and more importantly, buy.

Sorry to have to jump on the bandwagon, but ughhhh. Gretchen should not have won. First of all, her fabrics were boring and little house on the prairie (sheesh...that final dress was a costume - it was awful). That little robe thingy with nothing but a pair of granny briefs and a fedora was what? Not a lot of work, I can you that. It was also stupid. Sorry, really. I have never seen a worse ending. Thanks to Michael Kors and Nina Garcia, you have truly lost a fan and I have watched every season.

Whoa! Do not agree at all with the final decision. Mondo should have won. His designs are not "teenage" or "costumey" (especially compared to winners of past shows). I know tons of women of all ages who would love to buy those original, flattering designs. Gretchen's stuff looks like old lady Palm Springs....or hide-your-body Chico's collection. Andy's collection showed a lot more style, elegance and creativity than her pieces.

I simply do not agree with those who feel Gretchen did not deserve to win. If the contest were decided based on contestant popularity or who has the most touching personal story then perhaps someone else should have won. Or, if winning was based on some sort of cumulative score, then there might have been a variety of other outcomes. But given that each challenge stands alone, and winning is based on who puts on the best show the day of the finale, I don't think there's any question who did the best job. Gretchen's collection was the most mature, polished, and cohesive program. She put it all together and did what she needed to do when she needed to do it. And people can debate forever whether the inteded customer base for Project Runway designers is Lady GaGa or a more mainstream buyer. Personally, I think it's the majority of us and not the extreme fashionista. Mondo's final collection, in my opinion, was not his strongest showing. Are t-shirts and leggings high fashion? And those plaid pants reminded me of golf pants my mother tossed from my grand-dad's closet years ago!! Not what I expected to see from him. It's regrettable that Gretchen has to be subjected to all this negativity. I for one congratulate her!!!!

To the Judges at Project Runway (Especially Micheal Kors and Nina Garcia), This is the second time you guys played it very safe. Mondo was the Clear Winner and you have let all the people who think creatively and listen to a different drummer, down. You also are perpetuating the MYTH that originality can get you only so far AND THEN YOU HAVE TO SUCK UP. NOT, BECAUSE YOU ARE WRONG BUT THE JUDGES WON'T LET YOU WIN. To MONDO- You do not need to win at a contest judged by narrow minded, stick in the mud 'he is way better than I am so he can't win' kind of people. YOU ARE GOING TO ROCK THE WORLD !!! and the whole WORLD will STAND TO ATTENTION !!!. Youwill always be FABULOUS.

I am so disappointed in the judges decision, a blatant, repulsive waste of my time, and an evident lack of judgement by overlooking the spectacular work of Mondo. Gretchen sent down two, TWO, diapers. C'mon. Mondo's clothes were gorgeous exciting and relevant. You just lost a big fan. Boo.

Anni, you wrote this well and hit every point that needed to be brought up.

I am still amazed that Gretchen was not called out and then thrown out for her comment that she is just sick of the challenges. I was sick of her by the third week!

When the comment was made by the judges that Gretchen has her finger on the pulse of what's to come, I honestly felt a little ill. I was a teenager in the '70s, so I have already seen, worn and discarded every look that she sent down the runway. If this is what fashion is going towards, well, no, just NO. I cannot see young or mature women wanting to wear any of it. The high waist on her pants alone are laughable. And by the way, what was she wearing? I had a bedspread in that same fabric in 1978 (it was super cool then, but it's 2010!)

There have been so many comments about her jewlery. Yes, well, yawn, it is made out of metal and was eye catching, for a moment anyway. Other than that it really has all been done before too.

Now, to the real stars of the season. Michale C. forged ahead with dignity throughout the whole season. If this is how he is able to create while under the stress he felt from the other contestants, we will see more from him. He should have been in the top three!

Mondo's clothing is fresh, fun and I too, would buy and wear his clothing at my age of 50. Again, why would I, or anyone, want to look older by wearing dull hippie garb that went by the wayside in 1979? His head bands and hats have inspired me to make modified versions for myself! To me, that is a designer, they inspire, breath new life, and encourage us to step out of our boxes and be individuals.

Anyway, Anni, thank you for a well written blog. And Project Runway? I used to call it the most creative show on television and made a point to watch. I am not so sure that I can muster the same feelings when next season rolls around. It was just too disappointing!

Bruno Giri

I will never watch another episode of your show, I'm so disappointed with how it turned out. Mondo's work was consistently more interesting and more creative, two qualities which earned praise from the judges throughout the season. For you to turn around and choose Gretchen as the winner is ridiculous. She should have been cut from the show early on, but I believe she was kept around because of her scheming and manipulative behavior. Shame on you.

So disappointed this season!!
So disappointed this season!!

Gretchen was just okay. I know that in the moment the bohemian look is in. I just didn't care for the boring brown color palette that she chose. Just because you like a laid back style doesn't mean that you love boring. There are a lot of easy wearing comfortable clothing designs out there that are really eye catching and beautiful. I have no idea where someone, in everyday real life, would wear those panties and jackets without blouses underneath them. I believe that fashion needs to be whimsical, eye catching, engaging, youthful, and re-invented. I saw the re-invented part of Gretchen's collection. I didn't see any of the rest of what I love. It surely didn't make me smile. I just can't picture any of Gretchens' clothing on Jessica Simpson or Heidi because their esthetic is so vibrant and youthful. Mondo has won not only our hearts but our loyalty. He is a brilliant designer who's creativity and joy radiates from his heart. There are so many of us going through very hard times and are in very dark places because of the economy. Mondo's polka dots and mix-matched prints took us to a happy place and made us smile. He's pure genius and very unexpected :D I can't wait to own one of his vibrant, "YOUTHFUL", pieces. I need something to smile about that makes me feel good :D MONDO!!!!!

Starztempest

There is no way that Gretchen should have won. Her clothing was tasteless bland and down right boring. If she designs for the everyday woman then the everyday woman must be lazy and dress in the dark. Everyone of her models looked old, run down, and like they stopped at walmart on the way to the runway to grab some stuff of the discount rack; especially with the diapers! There is no amount of money in the world that could be given to me to wear her clothes. Fashion has always been about looking forward and not about "what's right now" as Kors said. In short, Gretchen = tired, old, & CHEAP; Mondo = original, fresh, well made, and EXPENSIVE! Wake up judges, if you want us to keep watching then we want the WOW not the meh. PS. Tim you are my favorite! I still quote "what happened to Andre?" And I couldn't agree more with your critics in the work room or your fashion sense. There is no show with out you! Make it work!

For the first time in years I feel the right person finally won PR. Gretchen's clothes are gorgeous and wearable. I feel like the insider fashionistas don't get real women and what they would actually wear. it isn't just shock value and different for differnces sake. I did love many of Mondo's looks too, but thought Michael Kors comments were completely on target. It was all a bit much and needed editing. Bravo, for at last making a real decision with real women in mind. Gretchen is a huge talent and deserved to win.

I have watched every season of Project Runway. I have to say that I am so very disappointed in Gretchen winning over Mondo. Gretchen's clothes are so "vanilla" and "granola". They are nothing special. Mondo is unique and his clothes are genius. I just don't understand the thinking in this decision. Nina and Michael are perhaps losing their fashion grip! I predict that Mondo will be a hugely successful designer and Gretchen will be soon forgotten. I wish Heidi had stuck to her guns! Poor Mondo was wronged by the judges. I'm not sure if I'll watch next season because of this ridiculous choice. Go Mondo! You'll do great!!!!!!!!

VSpringer

As of this episode, I've lost all interest in "Project Runway." You might as well call it, "Project Department Store." The judges have criticized the designers in the past for designing clothes for "department stores" or "off the rack" and then they choose the winner for exactly that! Gretchen's clothes are nothing more than 1980's re-makes. What's new about that for the older woman, Nina? Mondo's clothes had style and his creative use of fabrics and mixing patterns was fantastic. And, Heidi was right that many of his pieces would work great with any woman's basic wardrobe. I'm extremely dissapointed in Heidi that she would sucuumb to the Department Store sales pitch that Nina and Michael so wholeheartedly pitched. You might as well start having the fashion shows at Sears, or better yet, K-Mart. Mondo was the clear winner this season and he lost because the judges no longer believe that woman want fashionable clothing but simply comfort, even if that means wearing baggy, boring clothes from the 1980's. But then, Michael makes stunning, high fashion clothes out of gingham doesn't he? Maybe it's time for new judges. Heidi, I'm SO VERY dissapointed in you. You caved. How sad. Mondo was the clear winner and so gracious and personable. Good luck with Gretchen and with the next season. I'm done with dime store designer shows since that is cleary what Project Runway has become.

Nothing fashion forward about Gretchen. Michael C was elminated because no variety of color - at least it was a better color than what Gretchen and Andy used for their clothes. I have watched since the first season and may not be back for next. Nina and Michael need to be "out" - Tim is great. Gretchen is the first winner with boring, monotone, ready-to-wear designs. Really disasterous decision!

Clairemary
Clairemary

This is the first time the winner has not been fashion forward - and just OK. Michael C was out because the colors were too similar - Andy and Gretchen had the same problem; Gretchen in particular was boring and the same thing over and over, the shorts are awful. I have watched since the first season and may not watch the next. Perhaps Nina and Michael should be "out". A really disasterous decision.

I am so extremely shocked and disappointed.

I cannot believe that Gretchen was the winner. Her stuff was nice in the beginning, but she just went downhill after her wins. Her designs are incredibly boring, dull, unoriginal, and quite frankly, ugly. I would never wear her stuff, and to be honest I don't know a soul who would. I really don't. Her clothes are "off the rack," as Christian Siriano put it, and cheap-looking. I was appalled at the support Nina Garcia and Michael Kors gave her last night. You'd wear her clothes, Nina? I'd love to see you in a granny's diaper. You'd look lovely. Just remembering the bland music that was playing while Gretchen's models went down the runway makes me yawn again.

Gretchen did not deserve to be in Fashion Week. She has talent, but she has neither the style nor the taste to have been in the top three, or four, or earlier. She should have been out long ago, because you know what? She might have been in at first, but she's BEEN out. The judges have given her too many chances and now look where it's gotten them. They've chosen her, and now Project Runway has turned into a joke in many people's eyes and has lost countless viewers. Including me, I'm afraid. This was ridiculous and I don't want to watch another horrible mistake like this happen again. It's much too depressing. Not only that, but now Gretchen's head is even bigger than when she came in to the show. I've lost respect for Michael Kors and Nina Garcia. It's just beyond me how they could've been impressed with Gretchen's show. Or lack of, really.

I know that Project Runway is about fashion and not the personality of the designer, but I cannot refrain from putting in my two cents about Gretchen's attitude. I will admit that I like how she had a clear opinion about everything, because I love to hear what the designers think about each other's designs, but I am just so disgusted by how fake she was. She couldn't stand Michael C. and thought so ill of him, being especially bitchy when she totally threw him under the bus during the group challenge {even when he had immunity!}. Then when it comes down to the last couple designers she suddenly turns into an angel and gives him hugs and says how worried about him she is. I wonder if he noticed that.

There are two situations that stand out most in my head from this season that have to do with Gretchen's attitude. One was the group challenge where she was saying one thing at first and then saying the opposite the next moment, and I'm glad Michael Kors called her out on that. She defended the collection and even cried tears of pride, and then after hearing more of the comments from the judges, starts saying she knew it was ugly. Make up your mind girl, because you definitely won't get far like that. The other situation was her breakdown. One comment is that she's lost her steam - she lost it long ago - and she replies that she's just tired and sick of the challenges. After that disrespect and whine, how on earth was she chosen to move forward?

It disappointed me that Jessica and Heidi bent in to Michael and Nina's will. I hoped they were stronger than that, and that they would've stood their ground. Because they were right. I was very happy to see how hard Heidi was fighting for Mondo, because all of her points were valid. They were saying how great Gretchen's jewelry was, and I actually did like her jewelry, but Heidi pointed out that this wasn't a jewelry show and she was right. I also found out that Gretchen had her jewelry forged for her, whereas Mondo actually made his own. He put much more work into his line.

Now I'll focus on Mondo. He has been so creative and innovative and has been my favorite since the very beginning. His style is definitely closest to my taste and I've loved him since day one. He's worked very hard and has always WOW'd the judges. He has made creations appropriate for every challenge, yet staying true to himself and making it look remarkable each time. That's really what they are, "creations" - because no one else has made something like that before. It's pure Mondo. That's one big difference between his designs and Gretchen's; if something possessed me to ever want something like what she makes, I could go to any store and get it. If I want something Mondo, then I'm going to have to find out where his designs are sold because I can't get anything like that anywhere else.

Those little head accessories? Gimme all of them! I would wear every single piece in his Fashion Week collection, in particular that skull-beaded shirt with the black and white leggings. I fell in instant love with that look as soon as the model turned the corner. Nina Garcia constantly remarked that his designs were for a younger generation and only teens would wear them. Judging by many of the comments I've read on here, that is incorrect. If I was a hundred years old, I'd still wear Mondo clothes, and I am not exaggerating whatsoever. Heck, if it looked younger, than wouldn't I WANT to wear it so that I did too? If I saw an old lady wearing something by Mondo right now, I'd be delightedly surprised to see what great taste they have. They'd look amazing. Anyone would, wearing Mondo's looks. I also fail to see how Mondo's clothes look "costumey." They are fashion forward, creative, and many of his pieces are quite sophisticated. I completely disagree that he ever crossed the line.

Mondo is the true winner of Project Runway. Michael Kors and Nina Garcia have loved him throughout the season and then are suddenly taken over by who knows what and go against him? I find that very unfair and it's been bothering me ever since I watched it. What were they thinking last night, going in favor of Gretchen? I expected it to be between Andy and Mondo, and when I saw how repetitive Andy's collection was {so was Gretchen's! Same colors, same print, same boring bohemian 70's tired no-no's}, I was excited because I thought Mondo would win. When Andy was out, my hopes were raised even higher because I believed Gretchen didn't stand a chance. There's something to be said when EVERY designer chooses Mondo to go on to Fashion Week, and when he is never in the bottom {besides the group challenge, where GRETCHEN takes control over everyone!} while Gretchen is in the bottom multiple times.

This is like what happened with Daughtry and Adam Lambert. Both got screwed in American Idol but you know what? Both became somebodies. I can't even recall who actually won those two seasons. That's what this is like. Mondo's looks will be must-haves for every closet while Gretchen fades into forgotten memories. That, or that attitude of hers and sorry excuses for looks will keep us wondering forever how she ever even made it to Fashion Week.

I really can't wait to see more of you, Mondo

A comment is that she's lost her steam - she lost it long ago - and she replies that she's just tired and sick of the challenges. After that disrespect, how on earth was she chosen to move forward?

His style is in and will remain in.

There's something to be said when EVERY designer chooses Mondo to go on to Fashion Week, and when he is never in the bottom {besides the group challenge, where GRETCHEN takes control over everyone!} while Gretchen is in the bottom twice. Gretchen wins the first two in a row, Mondo wins three in a row closer to Fashion Week while Gretchen is in the bottom by Fashion Week.

Tim - Heidi and Jessica were right and Nina and Micheal were dead wrong. Gretchen's show looked like it belonged in Jaclyn Smith's K-Mart collection.

We watched every show this season and now feel it was a waste of time. Mondo and Andy were so fresh and creative, and Gretchen was so Annie Hall, not to mention how phony she was with the other contestants. :-(

I agree -- this is soooo wrong! Gretchen's creations are a throw-back to the 60's. There is nothing new there! What were they thinking? I think it is time for Michael and Nina to "get lost" and some new judges to get in to the act. I would think that Heidi's ideas would have more influence than the other two....geez! What a mess! Mondo deserves the "win" -- not Gretchen the control freak!

Mondo was the obvious "real" winner, regardless of the judge's decision. OMG!!!! I can't believe Gretchen won! Not one stitch of any of her clothes would have hung in my closet! She has the absolute worst taste! Does anyone even know anyone that dresses like a hippie these days???? I am completely floored!!...! My DAUGHTER who is 30 would NEVER wear any of her designs. Could be the judges are heavily favoring marketing to women over 45. As a group, women of baby boomer age have more liquidatable income to spend on clothing. I think the mistake that some folks make concerning marketing to the Baby Boomer segment, is that we"prefer" muted colors, flowing type styles, and less haute couture. I am a Baby Boomer and I absolutely HATE the clothing that is presented in stores like Macy's marketed to my age group. In fact, I have hated them for a long time now. If I saw fresh, colorful clothes that would make me feel youthful out there for "me", I would fall over in shock. I am incredibly tired of being lumped into a "group" where clothing designers discount my individuality in favor of blahness. Gretchen is blah. I don't want anymore blah. I can buy blah every where.

I have watched the last Project Runway!!! Gretchen's clothes were SO monotone, spoken by Michael Kors, and that was the reason they bounced off Michael C last week. Gretchen was a whiner and a cry baby. Can't believe Heidi didn't stick to her guns. Mondo AND Andy had it all over Gretchen. As far as Michael Kors, all his taste is in his mouth. I'm done!

We will remember this as the year that Michael Kors bullied everyone into a potato sack. Andy, come home and keep on designing your beautiful clothes.

I am very disappointed in the final decision. I love you Heidi, but I'm disappointed in you for letting Michael and Nina bully you into submission. I vote for new judges, new judges, new judges.

Tim, you're awesome!
