What did you think when you heard what the challenge was?
When I heard what the challenge was I was so scared because I hate making ugly prom dresses.
How was the experience working with your client?
My client was very difficult work with. She had very strong opinions about herself as a designer. I felt that she overpowered me and I just went into panic mode!
If she hadn't had such a direct view of what she wanted, how would you have dressed her?
I think I would have made a more loose shift dress in satin or a shiny fabric that was loose form the body. To make a form-fitting dress for this girl in that amount of time was not going to happen.
What did you think of the other designs?
I thought it was very funny that Sweet P did so well in this challenge because her work is not always strong! I thought it was funny that Rami, Kevin, and myself were the least fave of the judges when we have been the strongest in the past. Also all the designers were lucky to have such great models!
Were you convinced you were going home?
At first I knew that I was going home my dress was so ugly. I don't know how it happened but it did! Then after the judging I felt a bit better.
What did you think about Nina's point about blaming the client for the outcome?
Nina was not there to see how my client was acting to myself and the other designers. She was very rude and disrespectful.
How was your confidence going into the next challenge after this one?
My confidence going into the next challenge was not the same but I knew I would have to make something amazing to redeem myself.
Your client said she was a designer. Do you have any advice for her?
I have a lot of advice for her that I don't want to give. I will say that I hope she finds herself and keeps working at her talent.
