Real Fashion

At last, true fashion inspiration.

The four most important elements of this episode were Cavalli, Christian, The Met Museum, and Jillian. Darlings, after a season of candy-coated fashion ... literally! Finally a challenge that embodies the most important inspirations to the fashion industry: Art! NO more wrestlers, candy bars, recycled Levis, etc. This challenge was about real fashion.raterunway_02_411_220x415.jpg

Sweet P's elimination after showing at Fashion Week was very sad. I am excited to know now who wins. Can I just say Christian and Jillian's collections at Fashion Week were gorgeous! I want that feather mohawk hat, Jillian, if you are reading this .... Who will be the next great American fashion designer? I personally would like to see a season where the winner does not find such hardship and that there will actually be great success for them. Who will be the next head of design at Dior or the next Calvin Klein or Adrian, or win a CFDA award, be invited to show in Paris at couture, or sell at Bergdorf next to Zac Posen. I hope to see great success for the finalists this season. There is nothing like the feeling you have after presenting at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. I cried the most wonderful tears of joy after my very first showing there this season. I recommend to all of them to build a strong team of people that know the business and hire a great publicist. Longevity is important in this business and live for the very moment you are in. Keep your signature style but do not be afraid to evolve. Remember why you did it -- not to become a persona, there is not much longevity in that.

Darlings until next week I send you all love. Do not forget to moisturize and always remember a quote that was shared with me as a boy: "A dream is a wish your heart makes." I know its' from Pinocchio, but it has such great meaning.

Chin-chin, darlings, and Sweet P: Chin up -- you will be great.
