Summer In The City

What's not to love about summertime?

Phew! It's been an exhausting past few weeks here in NYC: first the insane heat wave that seemed to bring the city to a standstill, then Gay Pride which brought it back to life, and then my two-year anniversary, which no one but me cared about!

Summer in the city is a tricky time, plans are usually comprised with ideas of how to keep cool, and though the warm months bring with it a plethora of free concerts, free outdoor movies, free festivals, a level of lethargy sets in that is hard to shake (maybe it's just being raised in a cold state?). Nevertheless, I've been trying to get out and enjoy the sun while I have it, and dragging my friends kicking and screaming every step of the way. I

was at a Pride Week kickoff BBQ at Mayor Bloomberg's Gracie Mansion a few weeks ago, and it was one of the most surreal experiences. I know this may sound ridiculous, but to be sitting on a picnic table, in a yard, on the water, without hearing a SINGLE car ... IN Manhattan, threw me for a curve I honestly felt like I was back in MI and enjoying myself at a neighborhood block party -- it was great! Gracie-Mansion.jpg

While I was there, I also did a shot part of a documentary with director George Hickenlooper, who is compiling interviews for a new movie discussing being gay in NYC. He was hoping to have it ready to make the film festival circuit soon, so I'll be sure to keep you posted!

Ahhh, I almost forgot to mention the FREE Coldplay concert, the incomparable Valerie Brown from Bravo and I went to the day before the BBQ It was at Madison Square Garden and was completely sold out. I've come to realize that some people love or hate Coldplay's music, but no matter how often I hear "How can you listen to that? It's so depressing!" I keep tuning in for more. They sounded phenomenal and though there were a few glitches and hiccups, I don't think anyone cared, least of all their fans (who were probably the only ones there; I can't imagine someone who hated them would actually go see them perform).

Lastly, Kieran and I celebrated our two-year anniversary together last weekend. It's amazing how time flies when you're having fun, isn't it? We kept it pretty low-key this year -- dinner, parties, fun ... you know how it goes.

Well, I'm off for the 4th of July; I'm not sure what's going to happen but hopefully something worthwhile. Travel safe and be sure to relax!!!

On The Road

Book tour updates, be sure to stop by if you can!

Hey kiddos!

The book tour for Fashion Inside Out is going GREAT! Big thanks to all those who have already come out to show their support to me, and to the book; I'm eternally grateful! I hope that you enjoy reading the book as much as I enjoyed writing it.

I'm still on the road for another week or so with MANY stops along the way. Because I'm typing this from the airport terminal (waiting for my flight to San Francisco to board) I can't post all the rest of the stops, so check out my Web site www.danielvosovic.net for all the times and locations.

I love you all and hope to see you sometime soon! Have a great weekend (pleeeeease don't put me next to the screaming baby ...)

Daniel xx
