Summer, Summer, Summertime

Contestants make the most of as many calories as possible in a summer-inspired challenge.

Jul 6, 2011

Yet another twist came when the contestants discovered that Jeff doesn't eat seafood other than shrimp and lobster. Both adapt in their own ways with shrimp. Ultimately, both contestants did admirably and stayed under their calorie counts, and while Ryan's room was well-received -- despite some comments from Jung Lee -- Jennifer's room seemed to be a bigger hit. The diners were transported. Reading Jes Gordon's blog sheds a lot of light on what went into making both rooms happen, and how much Rocco loved Jennifer's party room details!

Do you agree with Rocco's decision, or would you want have wanted to experience Ryan's "Message in a Bottle"-themed party instead? Let me know in the comments below!

I thought jen did great. I love matzo brie, grew up with it, still eat it.

I also love salami and eggs - but no longer eat red meat. So I make it with turkey pastrami or, you guessed it - turkey keilbasa.

I think that indeed, cuz Jen was a caterer, she was underestimated. But I think she threw her heart and soul - and skills - into it and deserved the win. Yay Jen!

I agree..I thought Jen did a great job. You don't have to be neat and organized to put out a good meal. She tasted her food as she went along, and made the right decision to eliminate the scallops!! I would love some of these recipes, are they posted anywhere?

Where can we get receipesfrom the dishes prepared for the meal?????

After watching the entire season of my now favorite culinary reality show, I think Jen & Ryan's episode was the most entertaining of the season. Bravo to this episode! Congratulations to the 2 women chefs that won this season, these women are a great inspiration, would love to see these chefs again! Best of Luck!
