11 Essentials Shervin Roohparvar Won't Travel Without (Including a Body Hair Trimmer)
The Shahs of Sunset jet setter says, "I'm Persian, so my 5 o'clock shadow shows up by lunch time."
Shahs of Sunset's Shervin Roohparvar is a jet-setting travel addict who by now has a system for packing the essential items in his luggage without going overboard.
"Traveling means detaching and doing what you love most," he shared with Jet Set exclusively. "I have always been into traveling because it was my only way of taking a break from work. I love what I do, but it's healthy for everyone to take a break from time to time and recharge."
You probably won't be surprised to find that many of his travel essentials are fashion-related. Some are more out of the box — like a body-hair trimmer he'd never travel without!
"For me, eating clean is nearly impossible while traveling, so I need to be prepared to detox and sweat it all out in order to keep my sanity."
2A beard and body trimmer
"I'm Persian, so my 5 o'clock shadow shows up by lunch time. I swear, it feels like one of the only things us Persians do early is grow hair. I have to keep that beard nice and lined up, and you never know when you may need to do a quick chest grooming to prepare for going poolside."
"I'm constantly going to and from airports and train stations, so I have to have a healthier alternative to some of the foods available in these high traffic transit stations. I would rather save the calories for a solid lunch and dinner, not a generic fast food spot in the airport. Protein bars to the rescue!"
"I prefer not to use the ones the airlines provide, because they always have worse sound quality than Zack Morris' cell phone. Plus, its great to listen to music while working out at the hotel or just to tune out the outside noise for a bit." Alphasherv actually has his own headphones company, and only travels with these Munitio bad boys:
5A phone charger
"This must be in my carry-on bag because there is nothing more agitating than having your flight delayed and the only survival tool to fight boredom is your phone. Once that dies, I feel like I am about to die too." We feel you, Sherv.
6 A nice suit
"I usually end up not wearing a suit when I travel, however the anxiety of regretting not bringing it along justifies lugging it through the airport. Besides, I feel so accomplished and prepared for those instances when I do need it." Also, he looks so handsome in a suit. Let's not discount handsome.
7American Express card
"I don't leave home without it. Whether I'm traveling to the store or another country, I keep that baby on me at all times."
"I love traveling to tropical destinations with beautiful beaches, so the right selection of trunks is always in my bag."
9A nice watch
"Honestly, having a great watch is an international symbol of class. It's always well received by other people and can make for a great conversation starter." He told us he's a Rolex guy, but has a deep love of lots of other luxe watch labels as well.
10A Bluetooth speaker
"Why do so many hotel rooms still have the old iPhone adapter on the stereos? I love having some good tunes to put me in the right mood when getting ready, or something low key for the perfect chill night when I'm staying in or going to bed early. Sometimes music is the only thing that makes me feel at home when I'm away from home."
Tzumi portable bluetooth speaker for travel
"I can't live without extra socks because sweaty airplane feet are the grossest." Can we get an amen for that?
