This show is great, I just hate Sammy he is wrong for his controling ways. He is so typical and I don't see him changing. I hope Mj moves on
GG is on a tear, though, because later in the episode, we head to Sammy’s pool party. This party has everything I’ve known a good Persian pool party to have -- alcohol, kebabs, and hookah. And, of course, Mike’s date, Lana. Everyone has a comment about Lana, but no one really starts with Mike bout it -- except GG. GG says something about Lana’s attire in front of Mike, and obviously, Mike defends his lady, and shiz hits the fan. The sexual tension between these two is palpable.
So, we end this premiere with a sneak peek at what’s to come for the season. I honestly can’t wait for that trip to Las Vegas if only to see how MJ ended up in that bathtub.
Tell me: Who's your favorite "Shah" so far. And do you think Mike and GG will be getting it on by season's end?
This show is great, I just hate Sammy he is wrong for his controling ways. He is so typical and I don't see him changing. I hope Mj moves on
The show is great!!!! Ioved every minute. People don't be hater because you don't have it like that. Luv ya MJ
I loved this show. Couldn't wait each week to see the new episodes. Please continue and bring more people that are very successful in other lines of education too.It will give more balance in showing the different kinds of shahs and also show more of Iranian businesses and cultural aspects of their lives. Loved the honesty of these kids in explaining their lives. Also the high fashion makes it very entertaining. Love, love, love the show!!!!!!
How does GG expect to get married when she is so mean when she doesn't get her way. No man wants a woman who flies off the handle and can't and doesn't want to control her temper. She is no princess, she's the evil one.
I stumbled upon this show a few days ago and I am addicted. Reza is hilarious and so honest. We could all use a friend like him in our lives. I am really enjoying this little peak into a culture that until now I have not known much about. I am loving Shahs of Sunset. Brilliant!!
I was excited to see this show and view the rich culture and history that Iranian people have to share, but this is the worse depiction that I could have ever imagined. Are you serious? It's not even funny.
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this show. Reza is hilarious! I like the rest of the crew as well. What a colorful cast. well all except for GG. I think wast majority of the negative comments are due to GG.
Like any other show a group of 6 people are not representative of the whole. The show is very entertaining. Above all I think the show bridges cultures and offers a glimpse of the Persian culture (beyond the glitz and the glam)-Priceless!
Excellent job Bravo! Looking forward to season 2.
First of all, I predict a DRAMATIC increase in the use of the word "pishi" for pet names (with the recipient being either an actual domesticated animal, and/or another human being). Secondly, forget Ryan Gosling...I ABSOLUTELY NEED to put a handle on Reza, and carry HIM around with ME everywhere!!! Then I wouldn't need the medication anymore!
Love Asa... Reza is hilarious...but please kick GG off ... she does not belong on TV. Nobody wants to watch an annoying spoiled brat who has accomplished absolutely nothing in life, spending her days shopping and picking fights with people who actually have a career and a little substance to their personality. She has the personality of a 15 year old which isn't surprising since she has the responsibilities and maturity of a 15 year old, still, even though she is actually 29--LAME.
REZA LIKES KIR TO CUEN OF GUYS
THIS SHOW IS RIDICOUSLY RETARDED. LOST ALL MY RESPECRT FOR RYAN SECREST. THIS IS A DISGRACE TO ALL THE PERSIANS, THRE FAMILYIES, CULTURES, AND TRADITIONS. IN SHORT SHAME ON THIS SHOW
Although the show is very entertaining, I'm wondering if MJ was happy looking at herself on TV get as drunk as she did - what did you mother think?. GG - it seems when people don't pay attention to you, you get nasty - get a life. Sad to say, but money can't buy you class.
The show is very interesting and entertaining, but in reality - I wonder.... All these people are looking for love and for finding a right partner for marriage, but look at their life styles.. drinking, partying, material things, etc... They are proud to call themselves muslims or jews ... I wonder... in this show nothing represents religion.. they do break all the rules of being religious!... God is forgotten when it comes to money and everything materialistic around them. I feel sorry for all of them because they do not lead by example in any way! Sadly, not every gold shines... and this shows proves it.
I am in love with this show. Everyone who says they hate it are jealous of their lives and don't realize how hard they worked for the $$. I do think Asa is annoying, it's not that hard to hire a stylist and buy some nice clothes. Love the show!!
Already love the show, but can't stand GG. @L.A. to the East, TOTALLY agree with you! Saw the preview for Reza's bday in Vegas, glad to see people are getting irritated with GG!
Reza, we looooove watching you on the show, because you have naturally talent! The camera loves you too, because you make this show fun & interesting. You definitely nailed your CNN interview---awesome/priceless! Please do NOT listen to any negative Iranians (cuz it hurts more from your own kind); when was the last time you heard any Iranians work well together or SINCERELY praise one another? Bottom line, this is your show, and don’t let the haters take that away from you. Remember, your own quote “ I was NOT elected from the Persian House of Representatives….so I represent myself” so live/enjoy the moment my friend! From your Marble, gold, & of course colum faaaaaans!
@ Yojimbe = There is NO similarities between Turks and Armenians!!! Really - do you know what you just said? Ask my grandparents who escaped the genocide of which I would not be born a proud Armenian!!
I don't know about the show...the drama is definetely there because you got shallow characters in it. GG really gets under my skin but thats probably why i'm gonna be glued to the tv when its on. Its a love/hate show.
GG - take her out and the show may just be saved. She's vile. Ants are more redeeming creatures than GG. They're organized and hardworking, 2 adjectives that GG cannot claim to be.
It is tasteless for this show to air. With all the conflict the United States is involved in, and with tensions high with Iran, I won't be watching this show. Our great country allowed these folks to seek refuge, and in the land of the free and the home of the brave, we able to become millionaires. This is one show I refuse to watch.
This is my idea i sent to Ryan Seacrest 4 years ago, when i was in Los Angeles. The concept was stolen i will fight until i get credit for what they stole.I like the show.
I am an Iranian American and yes, I think this show represents Iranian Americans in an arrogant and materialistic way, but u have to admit a lot of Persians in LA are like that... GG is totally annoying and the drama on this show is just foolish, but that makes good television and I think its pretty funny. But I think this show is doing good for all Persians so Americans can see that Persians are not all terrorists or Muslims.
Is it just me or is GG acting like a mean version of Courtney Kerr???? Her hair is the same the style similar...a pool party comment, although not even close to as funny as The Courtney Kerr.
It's no more or less classless than any of the "Real Housewives". The only difference being that they actually care about one another. I love M.J. and her relationship with Reza and Sammy.
G.G. is too immature, and all her ghetto comments confirm this. I would feel sorry for Asa except that I think she loves being the odd man out. And as for Mike... I pity the girl who has to live up to those expectations.
Love the show!
And to people sticking up for the show, please realize that most viewers get attached to shows because of the characters and these characters suck.
Wow....GG really....girl....in L.A. you really are not "all that" or "that Hot" by comparison. Tone it down a bit for your own sake.
If people like these guys were in control and that's why they overthrew the Shah, then I totally understand. Luckily, most Persians I know are nothing like this lot. Like Asa and Reza, though.
Why not have GG's Daddy cut her off completely and let's watch the Princess survive. That would be good TV.
I, as a Syrian American who has children that are also Persian am offended by so many of your comments. I wonder if they are coming from hatred for the middle east, hatred for people that have actual money that they have worked and toiled for (not the housewives wannabes, i.e., New Jersey, OC, Miami), or just that they are in your face.
TanyaAnn72, get over yourself, we don't all live in the midwest, and are white bread people cut out of cookie dough. You appear to be a single older woman, who has never seen anyone of middle eastern descent. Bravo Bravo for making this happen.
Viewer2210, you are right, not all Persians are like this, but these Persians are, so let them be who they are. Not all housewives are like any of the women in the franchises but they are shown, so get over it, again, sounds like a slur to me.
Sidster congrats on getting your comment posted, I commend you for blogging. You have a birds eye view on what this show is about, you are not only from BH you are Persian and for that you should be proud.
These people didn't disrespect Zales, H&M, or any store you people frequent and purchase items, they told you THEY don't shop there, get over it stop being so sensitive, if you have watched Tabatha she is way more offensive. PS
Thank you Bravo for another GREAT show..... Please do not listen to all these haters the show is a hit in my book, thank you!!!!
I think the show is meant for entertainment; please do not judge these people and simply don't watch it if you don't like it; finally after so many years, we are on prime time tv which gives us a platform like no other; for reality television, the Shahs have the best ingredients: backstabbing; clash of classes; religious and social disposition; and of course, major drama. Thank you Bravo.
So far my fave is.....MJ's mom. I LOVE her! and MJ in the bridal shop was horrifyingly funny. Who tells a bride wearing a wedding dress, in a bridal shop, not to get married cause she'll just get divorced. MJ DOES. So far she's among my faves.
OMG, people who don't find these people interesting need to get a life. I knew from working at a movie theater in Beverly Hills that a lot of Persians are also Jewish but when I started watching this show, I started thinking of them in terms of the Cuban emigres who live in Miami. I also wonder if these were the people in power in Iran, would there still exist a threat to Israel. being of Greek descent myself I find the ethnic similarities between Persians, Iraqis, Turks, Armenians and Greeks fascinating. GG is smoking hot and Reza definitely a scene stealer. Great new show!!!
I am 110% Persian (Iranian American) who grew up in my beloved Los Angeles (Hollywood) to be exact. Ever since moving from LA I have always found myself almost lost and removed from my Persian American culture. The show last night brought it back and I can't thank you enough. People say the show is silly and does not represent the community, to them I say so what. Its better and much closer for at least a sliver of Iranian Americans than anybody else has shown. Most important it shows the culture of Persians in Southern California, I am so proud of growing up in Southern california a place where we Persians developed our own culture not based on religion or a regional alliance, but a place where we all Jewish/ Moslem, Christian, farsi, turk, Armani or kurd or anything else choose to identify ourselves as Persians and citizens of Tehrangeles.
Thank you Shah's of Sunset for giving me back my childhood and no place in the world represents what is best about Persian Culture than Souther California, not even Iran.
This is one show I will not be watching. Like most of the other people who commented, I thought the cast, with the exception of Asa, were very arrogant and stuck on themselves. I found it very ironic that GG on a couple occasions bragged that she is still supported by Daddy, even going on a shopping spree and having everything charged to her father's account, but when Asa comments about not being supported by her father, GG flipped her lid and went off on Asa. GG needs to get over herself. She isn't half as pretty as she thinks she is. Sorry Bravo....I think you're reaching on this one!
I browsed through the previews and I refuse to waste my time with this garbage. What the hell is wrong with H&M?! There are ALOT of viewers who do shop there and purchase what they can afford. Obviously, they are NOT looking for fans. OK, so what if you can afford expensive clothes? MAny viewers and other families are lucky to have jobs and support their families and yet you have this broad coming on and judging stores that the average income or lower-income viewer shops at. And whatever her name is, she is NOT all that. I do NOT find this GG aka"Persian Princess" to be all that attractive. Maybe if she had a nice personality, then maybe people will say she is attractive, but otherwise, Miss H&M, you are NOT all that. Many beautiful women in Beverly Hills, and you are not one of them. Take Camille from RHWOBH or Peggy from RHWOC. Use your money for some facial radical reconstruction.
Bravo, it is in VERY poor taste to have such classless creatures on telelvision. Are the producers THAT busy that hey just took whatever show, without really seeing what these people are like and just throw it on because they have nothing else better to do?
It amazes me how people who have money THAT talk down to others (not all wealthy people are this rude), they wonder why they are single. Deep inside a good man/good woman wants someone who is kind, respectful, and decent. Not some materialistic, cold-hearted individual.
Launa - Mikes Date at the Pool party is the best part of the show!!!!! She is HOT!!!!!!! Launa you were at a pool party, your supposed to wear a bathing suit. lol HELLO!?!?!? G.G. - DUH?
why not show the rest of the hard working persians in beverly hills. the ones who live in rented apartments, and struggle to save while going to school on scholarship? The bright intelligent persian life of beverly hills, not ALL persians are like what this show portrays...A little dissapointed
That's a classic case of "forgetting where they came from."
I do like Reza and Asa. However, GG will learn her lesson in humility. When the press is finished with her, I think she will.
I have to agree with the rest of the bloggers that the cast seems arrogant and narcissistic except ASA so far. Being from persian descent, I am embarrassed to be represented by such artificial people.Grow some humility and get over dropping name brands every other second on the show. We get it your rich! Its definitely not classy to brag and put down other brands and people from other income brackets (which majority of the viewers are most likely from btw). And GG just seems so loud and obnoxious and needs to go through temper management.
