I can't believe how quickly the season is winding down! Episode 9 beings with a conversation between Asa and Reza where he manages to convince her to come to a family dinner to give GG an opportunity to apologize for what happened. Asa is hesitant about attending, but she couldn't resist Reza's charm and agrees to go.
Next, you guys get to see the very first time GG and I ever hung out. We had met briefly at the group dinner where Reza introduced me to everyone, but I hadn't seen or really spoken to her since. I have to admit, I was a bit worried about how GG and I would get along. I had heard about how violent she got with Asa, and I had also heard a lot about her short-fused temper. I am a very non-violent person, and I don't surround myself with those that have a tendency towards violence. With that said, I am a very open-minded person, and I don't judge people based off of what other people say about them, therefore I wanted an opportunity to get to know GG for myself.
I must admit, I had a great time. GG was very warm and friendly towards me. She told me that she has reached out to Asa and really wants a chance to explain herself and apologize for her actions. I really hope these two women will be able to work things out because I do feel bad for how much the group has ostracized her this summer.
I can't believe Asa is recording a song with Andy!! Anyone that knows anything about Persian music knows exactly who Andy is. He is a Persian Pop Icon. I am super excited for Asa and I think she is going to kill it at Persia-Palooza!
You guys met my beautiful friend Raumak a few episodes back at dinner, now you get to meet her husband, Neama. I was a little surprised when he called me and asked if he could stop by my office to discuss something. Neama is a very busy, hard-working attorney. If he is taking the time out of his day to come speak to me, it must be important.
When Neama tells me he thinks I should give up my company and return to the practice of law I am shocked. I value Neama's opinion and have an incredible amount of respect for him, but is this a joke? My partner Jennifer Stano and I have built Have Faith Swimgerie (HaveFaith.com) from the ground up to become a million dollar company. After all my hard work and success, it is extremely hurtful to hear him put me down for doing what I love.
As I stated, Neama is very respected in the legal world (Harvard Law graduate!), but this is my passion, these are my dreams, and this my life. I love you Neama, but for the first time, I don’t think I’ll be taking your advice.
The episode ends with a dinner party at Sammy's house. The purpose of the dinner is to afford GG and opportunity to apologize to Asa, and to try and being mending relationships with the group. The dinner starts out great, so I’m really hopeful.
Things go very sour very quickly. Before I even have a chance to get started on my plate of food, there's yelling and screaming! I’'m not exactly sure what all the tension is about between Mike and Omid, but this is crazy. I don't say a word and I'm trying my best not to get involved even though I'm sitting directly in between the boys. The next thing I know, people are standing up and threatening each other, so much for anything constructive happening tonight!
Me, Asa, and Reza just sit there on the other side of the table watching in horror. We are all three so sick and tired of all the tension and drama. Wait, did GG just grab a KNIFE? OK, I think I just saw a glimpse of the crazy side of GG that everyone has been telling me about. Resorting to violence is NEVER OK, I am in shock at this point.
Tune in next week to see what happens at dinner.
