You know what I love about Asa? She lives life by her own rules and never lets anything get in her way, including money. Which is the opposite of how her parents live.
With that being said, I want to jump ahead to the scene with her parents. I can’t get over the fact that her mom only makes about $30K/year and supports the entire household. Her family’s story is a common one. I’d say a majority of the Iranians that currently live in the U.S. (including mine) sacrificed everything and left their country for the freedom of their families and children. I can’t even imagine what my parents went through leaving a country where they had everything made to go into the unknown -- a foreign country where they don’t speak the language and start all over again from scratch. They’re the real gangstas! It makes Asa’s aspirations of hippy dippy diamond H2O seem a bit silly.
Speaking of gangstas, our Persian Pop Priestess tells her Dad she wants to be rich. She forgets that by America’s standards, she is rich -- she drives a Mercedes, owns a home in Los Angeles, and has $30K in gold coins buried in her front porch. What more does she want? More gold bows, holey workout clothes and Boy George fedoras?
I admire Asa for being so ambitious and tenacious. But, I do question her methods. At least she’s not mooching off her Dad like GG is. . .
I only read page one of your blog, but just want to comment that I feel bad for GG. Yes, she's a hot mess, but her sister is too hard on her, and Asa is an assa to her.
@Diniva Just curious if you watched the show where she was explaining to Mike what Asa did to her before she turned gangsta on Asa....her very dramatic playback is a clue as to how GG processes events as they enter her head...I didn't catch all that drama from Asa when it was going down, partly because I was trying to figure out what was under Asa's top....I begged the tv to black out if not seeing a bottom meant she had nothing under the top....then I caught a glimpse of gold and breathed a sigh of relief...on this day I would be spared .... But not spared from the private embarrassment I feel for Asa everytime she appears on camera with another outfit....there is nothing worse than being embarrassed for a tv personality....it is a tormenting private humiliation you somehow grapple with, without being able to explain yourself or the personality committing the offense.....and then you pray a silent prayer thanking the heavens that you were not in front of the offensive outfit.....I didn't know at that point to watch GG trying to ram a chair up Omid, or Asa's tunic....they were both complete disasters....then I saw Gg running toward Asa again...and comic relief took me over...when Omid picked her up, it reminded me of the runt kitten in a litter of kitties that ran out from under her mama cat, looking to get into a bit of mischief, to finally have mama fetch her in her teeth where she would once again sit on her to keep her from hurting herself...
The only thing I get out of this show is that Persians have big egos, are materialistic, spend all their money to look like they are rich but in reality they can't make their next months bills, they are rude, loud mouthed, not in tune with the real world, drunks, etc, etc. This show makes them all look bad. Don't get why people would want to go on tv to show what idiots they really are. Oh, but I guess the show will help pay next months bills!
This show is crazy good! The housewives don't infuse enough comedy with all the drama and can be depressing when you think of all the horrible things these so called nice girls do to each other! You get a lot of bang for your buck with the shahs of BH with a dollop of Nadine on top! Love it!
Your recap is very good....these people remind me of dice on a board game...it seems like someone just tossed them out of a cup, and they are trying to find their balance...Asa and GG are the most self absorbed women ever to grace a reality show...grace is a generous word....Asa's mother struggles to make 30k a year to support her family, yet Asa has buried a years worth of her moms income in her cement front stoop....the next time Asa asks for money from her mom, she needs to be told to rent a jackhammer...I bet her mom didn't know that gem of info till the show aired...and on the subject of gems, let's talk about diamond water....infused with Asa's love energy....my question was how to infuse? Does she spit in it, P in it? Or just meditate in the bottling facility? Then she was surprised at the start up costs....and that made me realize this chick isn't using real diamonds, she most likely will try to pass off "diamonique", the way a scoundrel boyfriend would do if he did not want to invest in a real diamond....and if that scene was not bad enough, she had to come in looking like an eighties mall pop singer...I think Tiffany and Debbie Gibson sported that look many times, stealing from Boy George of course....should we all want to be tuned to our own channel like Asa, and not have mirrors in our house?
if MJ could acknowledge that work is an intrinsic value in this life she will show up more often
I'm sorry but I think it may be a case of sometimes outgrowing your friends. MJ does not appear to have a good work ethic. She also supports a highly toxic and cruel person - GG.
