Bravotv.com: For the Elimination, what were the judges looking for with the hair?
Thick dark hair needs movement and shine. We were simply looking for gorgeous hair! Flowing, fierce, and frizz-free.
Bravov.com: Brian really rocked it this whole episode — what did he start doing right?
He finally started to get that it was a competition. It always takes a few challenges for them to get their rhythm as a stylist.
Bravotv.com: What was it like having Tabatha as a guest judge? Do you watch Tabatha’s Salon Takeover?
I love Tabatha as a friend and as a professional. I always watch her show and, I think it’s great that hair schools are using it for educational purposes.
Bravotv.com: Tabs and Brig got into it over the idea that Brig gave up. What was your take on that?
There are trigger phrases to a stylist. Giving up is one of them! “Fighting Meow!”
Bravotv.com: Adee got dealt a bunch of bad hands, but what do you think ultimately sent him home?
He quoted it best: “You have to shoot if you want the stars.” He didn’t give it his all. I know he had more in him that we didn’t get the opportunity to see.
Bravotv.com: How much do you try to budge a client into something different than what they want? What was your worst experience where a client wouldn’t budge?
Sometimes as a stylist you have to talk your client into things that you know would be great for them. I always have to talk the client out of falling off the blonderexic cliff.
Bravotv.com: How was the wedding experience?!
This was my first Indian wedding. It was so special to have them share their personal life with us and to experience their culture
I was very glad to see Adee eliminated, he was so disrespectful and unprofessional. His excuses were worse than a little instigator in Catholic school. The other guy with the tattoos on his fingers, can't remember his name but was throwing the bird on this episode, a total moron, came in with an attitude needs to be eliminated with attitude. Very raunchy guys on this season. Giacomo was nothing but a cop out, he knew he brought nothing to the table, and Brig, that is one strange big bird, she's not all there. The other ones, take this challenge serious. I hope the short little stylist wins.
Thank you for your comments. Regarding Adee's elimination, you are being kind. He was the "King of Excuses" and delivered nothing exciting. What a pompous ass. This last ep, he admitted that he needs assistants to hold his hair dryer, styling aids, scissors and has the nerve to charge clients $400. Wow! That explains his give nothing, add nothing, but expect to win approach to this competition.
Kim Vo, you are hottest vietnamese french guy I have ever seen. Its fun to watch you. I love your hair products.
Thanks for giving us some insight into your thoughts, it is appreciated! I really wish the contestants would blog as well (particularly that VERY hot Brian!!! he's like Billy Squire with an edge lol)
Really enjoying this season and I wasn't sure I would with Jacqueline gone.....however, it keeps hooking me week after week (just please don't send Brian home for a while...truly some serious eye candy there)
How I wish I had a stylist of your caliber as i get older. My hair does not have the fullness or shine that it did years ago.It would be great for viewers of shear genius to win a chance of a lifetime hair style.Especially a GOOD perm. Please think about it!!!!
I wish you would quit referring to the mobles hair that you don't like as OLD LADIES up do's when older women are watching the show. They are very negative comments and you do it all of the time in regards to older women. Look in the miror you look like an old queen with a side do!
Shear Genious shows that you have to, more than, look like an artist to be one. It is more than talk and luck. Glad to see Bryan and Janene come up from the thier beginning styles that bombed. Brig needs more time for those braids and something to clamp over her mouth. Mathew is fabulous, as well as Janene, April and Bryan! The guy with the tats, shooting the bird needs a show of his own. Really - he is an original - just clean him up a little. Adee was on several shows and that will allow him to pump up the experience in his salon - feed that already swollen ego.
While I agree that it was Adee's time to go, I don't understand the suggestion constantly being made on the show that it's a stylist's job to not give people what they want. When a stylist is working, his or her main concern is to keep the client happy because repeat business is the only way a salon stays open. Even if someone walks out with great-looking hair, he or she is not coming back if it isn't at least very close to what they went in wanting.
I agree that it was Adee's time to go; but I would let him cut my hair anytime!!! Good Luck to you, Adee!
