Bravotv.com: For the Shortcut Challenge, a few of the stylists revealed that precision cutting is not their strong suit. Did that surprise you?
Precision cutting is no joke, but some of the shapes the contestants created were hysterical!

Bravotv.com: For the Elimination, the stylists had to create looks for a headshot. How is a headshot shoot different than any other kind of photo shoot?
A headshot is meant to be very clean and a good representation of the character that you want to portray. A photo shoot is more artistic and visionary so the hair could be anything from basic real life to avant-garde.

Bravotv.com: Which looks impressed you the most/least?
I was impressed by Brig’s first head shot in particular. Her model was polished perfection.

Bravotv.com: Why do you think a few of the stylists essentially made their looks worse during the shoot when it looked fine beforehand?
The stylists were nervous and second-guessing their gut instincts. It’s important for a stylist to know intuitively what works for a photographer.

Bravotv.com: Do you think some people redeemed themselves in the second look because they got a better handle on the challenge?
In most cases no. In Brian’s case any look would’ve been better than his first. His second was a vast improvement.

Bravotv.com: What do you think ultimately was the eliminated designer’s downfall?
April had been on the bottom for our previous Elimination Challenge and also this episode's Shortcut Challenge. April’s headshots were too similar and not flattering or age-appropriate. She made her model appear older. Although the second headshot was an improvement on the first it looked as though April simply pulled the front back and pinned it.

Bravotv.com: Brig made a lot of comments about being happy seeing Matthew’s downfall at the beginning of the episode. Could you judges sense the competition between those two?
We try not to pay attention to the stylists' interpersonal dramas, but yes, we can sense them! With Brig and Matthew it’s hard not to!

Bravotv.com: Anything else you’d like to add? Any hairstyles at the Oscars that really impressed you?
I loved Miley Cyrus’ sweeping pompadour updo and Meryl Streep’s classic French twist.
