Bravotv.com: This was your week because it was all about color! What do you think the biggest mistake stylists make when coloring?
The biggest mistake is that they over think the process. Hair color isn’t baking a cake. Hair is an enigma; it changes and takes color differently every time.
Bravotv.com: A lot of the stylists were asked to do blondes — what did you notice about how they did? Why did you choose the winner that you did — you had said that that color seemed the most unnatural.
They didn’t push their skills. I got more maintenance than magnificence.
Bravotv.com: Onto the Elimination, the stylists had to use color, etc. to make hairstyles inspired by food. What were you and the other judges looking for?
Food and hair are very similar. Texture, color, presentation. We wanted all of the above, cut above the average.
Bravotv.com: Which were your favorites and least favorites?
My favorite was Jon. Loved it, loved it. Adee was doing a tuna tartar that looked like a placenta helper.
Bravotv.com: Jon won this challenge with his scallop-inspired hair. What did you think of it?
Great bangs! He actually cut her hair so well that it looked edible. Clean and fresh!
Bravotv.com: Arzo goes home with her “spicy red” hair, leaving Brig (the “interracial snowman” hair) ... What put Arzo below the rest?
Arzo didn’t push the limit. Her model looked like she went to the prom and got stuck in the rose bushes. Brigs’s interracial snow man is at least interesting.
Bravotv.com: What do you think of Giacomo going home?
We eat our young in the hair industry. He is a casualty of that. I would have liked to know him so I was bummed.
