Who stepped up during the red carpet challenge?

I really thought that Charlie's look was great. When he was combing them out I wish they would have been a little sharper. When he finished they were a little too lose. I was really impressed with Gail because at the time it didn't seem like she knew she was doing. I think I scared her and she really pulled it together. I think she was as shocked as I was with the results -- it was a really good style.

Was their any surprises?

I was surprised with Gail. I really hope that this helps her gain some confidence so she can really shine in this competition. I thought that this group would have been better for this challenge they all really disappointed me. This is a big part of our career to do Red Carpet/Party hair.

What is the biggest difference with red carpet versus runway hair?

The biggest difference is that red carpet needs to last all night. Runway only needs to last a short time and can be out-of-the-box crazy.

Do you have any parting words for Matthew?

This competition covers all aspects of hair. Unfortunately you didn't get to show your strengths. In our short time together I can see that you are a great haircutter and I wished I could have seen you shine in some of the future challenges.
