A year ago, who would have thought that Craig Conover would be gardening?
But lo and behold, that's exactly what the Southern Charm gent is doing now that he has settled down with girlfriend Naomie Olindo in their new home in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. "I was planting plants at seven in the morning. We just do grown-up people stuff," Craig told Bravotv.com of making his home sweet home with Naomie. "I built a wood shop in the garage, so we have these 150 vegetable plants that we sprouted, and we kind of just have fun together. It's fun finding your best friend."
We saw Craig and Naomie move out of her parents' home earlier this season of Southern Charm following the sale of the abode. He said that knowing he and Naomie want to be together forever made it easy to figure out their next step. "Instead of having to go through a year of the BS period where like, 'Oh, I'm gonna tell her that I feel this way, but I don't want her to get freaked out.' Instead, we were just like, 'Look, it's pretty obvious we're gonna get married and spend the rest of our lives together,'" Craig said. "So then we could cut right to making the best choice for our future."
Now Craig couldn't be happier with the move. "It's awesome," he said of his and Naomie's new crib. "It's a little starter home that we're fixing up ourselves."
But even he's a bit surprised that all this is actually happening, considering how #OldCraig acted. "I always said I would never leave downtown because Charleston wouldn't be the same," he said. "But now we're in Mount Pleasant over the bridge, and it's just nice. It's like a real community, people just riding their bikes, and their dogs. We know the neighbors now, fun stuff that you think only happens on TV shows. We got lucky."
So has Craig completely given up his partying ways in favor of domestic bliss? Pretty much. "Now instead of spending $100 out at the bar, I'll buy like a tool for $100. And I'll be like, 'Oh, I get to keep this forever,'" Craig said. "We're really lame now, but it's so much more fun. I wouldn't trade it for the world."
Once you take a photo tour of Craig and Naomie's lovely new home, you'll understand why.
