There are many things we're hoping to see on Season 5 of Southern Charm — and high on that list would be our favorite pug Percy (with Patricia Altschul and her caftans) plus the newcomer who's captured our hearts already, Elvis.
The one thing we won't be seeing much on this season — Craig Conover's conversations with cats. ICYMI, the new lawyer has since split from Naomie — and with her went the cats they shared. First up was Gizmo who decided he was moving back in with Naomie’s parents, a little before they separated.
Unleashed caught up with Craig who reminisced about how they got their second cat.
"Naomie and I rescued this cat Z which I fell in love with because honestly I never dreamed of having a cat, let alone two and ... I fell for this cat because he was scared to even come out from under the bed when we first got him and he was neglected as a kitten. We spent a lot of time with him and then he turned into like this little bada** and you could watch him get braver."
"It was cool watching him grow up and so, when I left my closing took an extra month and ... Z stayed with me that whole time. Then unfortunately when you have that last talk, Naomie took Z back. And Z should live with Naomie. So I try to keep up secretly through her Instagram stories to see how he’s doing, but he’s doing great and he loves the new house. But, yes, I definitely miss him sometimes."
That sounds like a true animal lover and he's also being responsible about adding another furry addition to the home he now shares with a college friend.
"I’ve always said I can’t get a dog until I’m ready to have a kid because I don’t want to have to leave him at the house or kennel it all the time. I want a dog really bad and I like being an uncle to a dog but I don’t think it would be fair to any animal at this point for us to have him."
Now Naomie does bring Gizmo over a few times this season (so we'll still see that fluffy face) but it sounds like there's only one thing that could change his current pet status: Fate.
"If we find a dog on the side of the road we’re obviously gonna pick him up and so we’ll have to see if we add an addition to the house. It would be ridiculous if we did and awesome but we haven’t decided yet."
