The Manzo'd with Children son decided to embark on an incredible body transformation after several events in his life prompted him to want to make some major changes. "The timing of the show hit me at a crossroads," he told The Daily Dish. "There were a couple of things that happened in my personal life where I was just not happy. And I said to myself, 'Well the direction I'm going in with my career, with my relationships with my friends [and] with my family, am I really proud of who I am as a human being?' And the answer was 'no.' And I felt like there was somebody inside me, there was the potential person I was super, super proud of that was buried under all this junk."
The big 3-0 may have played some part in his decision to step up his fitness, but so did Lauren Manzo Scalia and Vito Scalia's 2015 wedding. "I'm really, really proud of where I am now and I definitely think turning 30 is what triggered a lot of that. My best friend married my sister. They're settling down into a house and all of this stuff, and I'm basically ordering from two different places on Seamless. So at some point or another you've got to try and take life serious, and I've just been really clear about what I want and chasing it down and I'm proud of where it's at."
While Albie and Caroline Manzo have been stepping up their fitness game, Chris Manzo doesn't have plans to hit the gym anytime soon."No, I don't like working out. It's just stupid to me. It's such a waste of time," he said. "I don't see the point. When a doctor is like 'You have to,' then I will. Until then I just don't want to. It's not fun. I walk a lot, that's kind of my work out. I probably walk just like going places, probably like five miles a day, which I feel like is a good amount of walking. So I get my workout in in one way or another... I'm sexy as it is. I'm mysterious."
