Andy Spills on the "Love Letters" He Got from Sarah Jessica Parker Back in the Day
The #WWHL host reflects on spending "many New Year's" with SJP — as well as Yolanda and David Foster's split.
With 2015 just days away, Andy Cohen is feeling a little nostalgic about the past. And as the Watch What Happens Live host readies a pretty epic New Year's Eve, he's looking back on his relationship with his BFF, Sarah Jessica Parker, who, as it turns out, he's "spent many New Year's with" over the years.
In the latest edition of Ask Andy, he explained how he got so tight with the Sex and the City fashionista in the first place. "I met her when she was on CBS. I produced her; she was my guest," Andy said. "And then I met her again covering the first Vanity Fair party, and then I met her again at the premiere of this Hugh Grant movie that she was doing." After a few more run-ins, and the realization that they had mutual friends, the pair danced the night away (with Chris Noth!) at another Vanity Fair party before eventually exchanging email addresses. "And I saved a bunch of those early emails 'cause they were like love letters," Andy said. "I was just excited."
In addition to chatting all about SJP, Andy also weighed in on the recent news that Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Yolanda Foster and David Foster are divorcing after four years of marriage. "I wasn't surprised because, you know, in every relationship, there's a flower and there's a gardener — and I think maybe he thought he was the flower in that relationship and she was the gardener, and she was taking care of her lemon tree — which was David Foster," he said. "And maybe she became the flower because she was sick and needed to be taken care of and also she was getting famous because of the show."
Tis the season, and Andy also revealed what he'd get some of 2015's naughtiest and nicest celebrities, including Donald Trump. "I would give him a one-way ticket to Syria," Andy said of the presidential hopeful. As for Real Housewives of Atlanta alum NeNe Leakes? "She's been nice. I gave her stationary," he said.
