Demetria McKinney's 8-year-long relationship with producer Roger Bobb came under scrutiny on this season of Real Housewives of Atlanta when Kandi Burruss's friend Gocha Hawkins claimed she had also dated him a couple of years ago.

Now, Demetria opens up to The Daily Dish to set the record straight about her love life. "Roger and I, first off, are doing absolutely phenomenal. We are stronger than ever," she says. "These type of scenarios tend to break up relationships if they weren't based on the right thing and if you don't really trust each other. He has been my best friend for years. Whether we were together or not, we have always been in each other's corners."

Demetria goes on to explain that the two have been on-and-off for the duration of their relationship and that when Roger was dating Gocha, they were definitely off. "The thing with Blue's Clues," she says, referencing Gocha's hair color, "in the scene she says, 'it was the month of November.' The month of November of that year, [Roger and I] were not together."

And now, Demetria says that the pair are doing great and very happy. What's the secret to making their relationship work? "We click because we let each other be who we are," she says. "Roger really isn't a cusser, he doesn't drink, he's very much a workhorse and he's pretty much an A-type personality to the nth power. Me? I like to drink, to cuss, I'm good at both. I'll go to a strip club. I like to twerk. But I'm also very responsible with my responsibilities and aware of what my consequences are."

That yin-and-yang is a key to keeping their love alive, she adds. "He doesn't judge who I am and he loves the good, the bad, and the ugly the same way I do for him. And at the end of the day, I can talk to him and I can say, listen, I want to talk to my boyfriend, or my business partner, or my investor. I want to talk to my friend because my boyfriend is doing some dumb stuff. And we understand each other that way."

The singer also recently revealed that her latest single "Take It All" is based on her relationship with Roger—specifically on whether they are headed to the altar or not.
