Kate Chastain Has an "Awkward" Connection to João Franco

If you're a fan of Below Deck and Below Deck Mediterranean, you know that the yachting industry can be a very small world, indeed. But we didn't know just how small until Below Deck chief stew Kate Chastain recently revealed her major connection to Below Deck Med's João Franco. 

While watching Below Deck Med Tuesday night, Kate realized that one of João's friends who stopped by Hannah Ferrier's birthday barbecue was actually her second stewardess from the last yacht she worked on before she joined the Below Deck crew in Season 2. Kate even shared a photo of her hanging out with João's friend when they worked together. Yacht life can be crazy sometimes, can't it?

We have a feeling that's probably where Kate's similarities with João end, given her friendship with Hannah, who has often come at odds with João this season of Below Deck Med. It seems like there's a lot that Kate does like about this season's Below Deck Med crew, though. Not only has she showed love for Hannah and Captain Sandy Yawn, but she has also already found a favorite new crew member in deckhand Colin Macy O'Toole.

We're now eagerly awaiting those fonts for this season's Below Deck Med crew, Kate.
