Brooks Ayers' Lawyer Hits Back at 'Absolutely False' ABC Report

"The threat of the lawsuit exists" over 20/20 story calling Brooks a deadbeat dad.

Vicki Gunvalson and Brooks Ayers

Vicki Gunvalson recently told The Dish that her boyfriend Brooks Ayers was in the middle of fighting back against recent media attacks on him, namely a 20/20 interview with his ex-girlfriend who accused Brooks of running off on their child. Now he's doing just that.

In an interview with Ayers' lawyer, Alexander Rufus-Isaacs tells RadarOnline that the claims made by Nicolette Catanzarite and ABC during the segment are "absolutely false." He goes on to say that "while we have not filed a lawsuit yet, we have written to ABC demanding a retraction and informed them that the threat of the lawsuit exists and we are currently in discussions with them."

In the segment, Catanzarite, an ex-girlfriend of Ayers with whom he had a son, claimed that he left them and all of their bills and that he has abandoned his son, but Rufus-Isaacs says that it's Catanzarite who "won't allow him access for the time being."

The lawyer also had one parting shot for 20/20, saying it "purports to be a news program so viewers give it a lot of credibility because they believe it has been fully researched and is impartial ... Our view is that it is entertainment and painting it as a news program is misleading."
