Grammar nerds—you've been warned! Celebrities have been known for changing the spelling or context of their names. Lady Gaga once went by GaGa; Diddy used to be Puff Daddy—and don't even get us started on Prince! Now, the Countess is joining the ranks of celebs who are changing their monikers.

The Real Housewives of New York star has officially dropped the Capital A in her first name, opting instead for Countess Luann de Lesseps, she tells the Daily Dish. Although it seems slightly out of the blue, it's a change she's been contemplating for quite some time.

"I've always thought the capital A was a bit jarring, to tell you the truth," she explains. "Like my name was so much more than it was or than it needed to be. I'd toyed with the idea of using all lower-case years ago, but I just stuck with it."

So what helped her take the leap to lower-case? "When I decided to launch my Countess Collection, I knew 'Countess LuAnn' would be a lot of branding," she says.

And so far, so good! Luann is loving the switch-up. "It just looked (and felt) so much better to have it simpler and…dare I say…much more 'chic.' So 'Countess Luann' it was and voila! C'est bon!"
