Cynthia Bailey Says She "Will Never Marry Again" After Divorce From Peter Thomas

"I'm just not wife material," the #RHOA fashionista said.

After six years of marriage (and nine years as a couple), Cynthia Bailey and Peter Thomas have decided to part ways. However, that doesn't mean there isn't still love between Cynthia and Peter. “I will always love Peter and have his back,” she told Us Weekly. “There was a lot of internal unhappiness. I wasn’t at peace.”

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta on Peacock and the Bravo App.

Cynthia said part of that was the fact that she put her 17-year-old daughter, Noelle Robinson, first and not Peter. “Peter never felt like he was my No. 1 priority,” she explained. “He was right. She was.”

Now Cynthia said she is realizing that perhaps marriage was never really for her. "I couldn’t give up Cynthia Bailey to be Cynthia Bailey Thomas,” she said. “I was in love with Peter, but I’m just not wife material. I will never be in a relationship again where it will take a lawyer for me to walk away. I will never marry again.”

Still, things have remained amicable among the exes. They communicate mainly via text these days. The two even hung out in Hawaii during a vacation with some of the other RHOA ladies in October. Kandi Burruss' husband Todd Tucker invited Peter along. “Hawaii was the first time Peter and I have hung out since we separated,” she told Us Weekly. “I think Kandi was hoping for a love reconnection.”

However, Cynthia and Peter are working on finalizing a settlement before filing for divorce with the hopes of completing it by January. “We had no children together, so what’s his is his and what’s mine is mine,” she said in regards to a prenup.

Though Cynthia may not be walking down the aisle anytime soon, that doesn't mean dating is completely out of the question. “There’s something very scary about turning 50 and being by yourself,” she said. “I just have to believe everything will be OK.”

The end of Cynthia and Peter's marriage will be a hot topic in the upcoming season of RHOA premiering Sunday, November 6 at 8/7c. See what's in store for Cynthia and her fellow Georgia Peaches, below.
