Dana Wilkey Explains Those $25,000 Shades

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Dana Wilkey didn't spend $25,000 on those Luxuriator sunglasses, sillies. They were a gift!

"Basically, I was given an option from my fiancé to get a really nice necklace or something else to be sort of a thank you present," Pam, eer Dana, tells UsMagazine.com. That's some thank you -- what did she do to deserve such an upgrade from breakfast in bed or sending flowers to the office? "I won't get into why; he's very private, but he authorized it," she says. Fair enough.

Truth be told, these sunnies were a practical decision. In Dana's mind, anyway. "I thought, 'Instead of a diamond necklace that just sits in a jewelry box, why don't I get something more user-friendly that I could use every day?' I thought it was really cool fashion."

And cost peanuts in comparison to what fashionistas on the other side of the Pacific spend.  "I heard a lot of people in Asia were buying even more extravagant ones, like $100,000 ones. I figure I don't lose my glasses, so I'm in good shape. Let's go for it!"
