"It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii," his publicist Diana Baron said in a statement about the Grammy-nominated DJ, best known for his hits "Levels" and "Wake Me Up." "He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given."

Back in 2016, he retired from touring due to some health issues and that same year the DJ enlisted Fredrik Eklund and his team to help sell his Stockholm apartment. "Thanks @avicii for trusting us to sell your apartment," the Million Dollar Listing New York agent shared at the time.

In the wake of the sad news on Friday, celebrities and musicians, including Madonna, Rita Ora, Paris Hilton, Calvin Harris, Zedd, David Guetta, Deadmau5, Diplo, Golnesa "GG" Gharachedaghi, and more took to social media to pay tribute to the DJ.

So Sad....... So Tragic. Good Bye Dear Sweet Tim. 💙 Gone too Soon.
