Getting Cat Crazy With 'LOLwork' Cast

The stars of our new show opine on all things feline.

Aside from maybe your wacky cousin who has 13 cats, chances are you've never met people more excited about said animal than William "Will" Sharick and Emily Huh, who along with their fellow I Can Haz Cheezburger team produce the Internet's great cat escape. All of the feline glory will be captured on our new show LOLwork, and we got a chance to chat with the duo about all things purr-taining (sorry, had to) the show, their lives, and yes ... cats.

"Everybody has an opinion about a cat, and I think what we're trying to do is show what these opinions are," Will said of their popular websites. "Hopefully everybody has positive opinions about cats but that's not always the case and sometimes our content shows that side of cats, too."

Asked why they largely cover cats over dogs, Emily -- who is married to the site's founder Ben Huh -- put it pretty bluntly. "Cats are more expressive. They range in so many different emotions from cute to evil to cunning, and the next second they're cuddling next to you. For me, they're like mini people dressed in a fur suit. Dogs are very happy, that's their one emotion. Cats have that range of what they can do."

There's also a pretty big divide between the cat-loving world and the dog-adoring people, something that Emily thinks has something to do with the fact that cats are pretty much only in-your-home pets.

"Cat owners don't have a cat park to go to and talk about how their cat is. For cat owners, the internet is the cat park or litter box." Will agrees, saying that "cat owners have this mutual understanding of what it's like. Cats are very much more human-like and can be super chill and cuddly and they can also have a temper or if they aren't having something go their way, they'll let you know and that can be very funny."

Angry cats tend to work best on the site, and it's for quite the divisive reason: If you've ever been scratched by a mean cat and turned off on the species, you'll know it all to well, or if you're a cat person and think something like this is adorable, then all the better. But, in Emily's words.  "Angry cat videos, people like to share those because it's fun to see an angry cat that's plotting to kill humans."

LOLwork and their penchant for murderous kittens premieres on November 7 at 11pm.
