Before Gizelle Bryant was the sassy single ready to mingle on The Real Housewives of Potomac, she was married to megachurch pastor and activist Jamal Bryant. Unfortunately, Gizelle's marriage ended after about eight years due to her then-husband's infidelity.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Potomac on Bravo on Sundays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo app

Gizelle has always been open about the marital issues she experienced before she decided to get a divorce, but she revealed even more details about her decision to leave her husband during a recent interview with The Breakfast Club. "At the time, I had two 1-year-olds and a 2-year-old. Three girls. They're beautiful. And I said, 'I'm not doing this. I'm not gonna be disrespected,'" Gizelle said during the interview. "So yes, I packed up and left."

The RHOP mom went on to say that at the time, she thought Jamal's indiscretion would not be a one-time thing. "Well, I felt like it was a lifestyle, as opposed to you made a mistake one night," Gizelle explained. "So I just didn't want to sign up for that."

Gizelle said she waited about a year before she finally decided to call it quits with Jamal. "I decided to give it a year to say to myself, 'OK, am I going to try to work this thing out? Is this gonna happen when my kids are in high school, and then I leave?'" she said. "I just felt like it was time."

Despite all of the drama that she and Jamal have been through in the past, Gizelle said that they remain "really good friends" today. Now as her fellow RHOP ladies experience their own relationship woes this season, Gizelle said that she gives them advice "all the time" based on what she has gone through.

Gizelle also shared that she will be putting her past experience as the first lady of a church into a future tell-all. "I have a hot, juicy faith-based book coming out," she teased. "It's about all the tea that I have to spill on the faith-based world."

Word on the street is that this will be your next page-turning read. "I was in that world, so I have inside dirt information," she said. "It's gonna make you drop your Bible."

For now, prepare to be shocked by what's about to go down on RHOP Sunday at 8/7c, which you can get a sneak peek of, below.
