Hear Dana Wilkey's New Single
"$25,000" name checks her signature shades.
When Dana Wilkey pointed at her shades and quipped that they were worth"$25,000" she label-dropped her way into the hearts of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans. She spent most of Season 2 (in particular the reunion), fighting the backlash for her name-centric ways.
But what better way to channel that backlash than creating a club banging track called (what else?) "$25,000"?
This morning the friend of the Housewives, took to Ryan Seacrest's radio show to debut the song and explain how it came about after Saturday Night Live lampooned her fashionable shades.
"I feel like it's now become a pop culture funny thing that happened on the show and I wanted people to know that I am laughing at myself as much as they're laughing at me," Dana said.
And thus the blistering, Bugs Bunny-mentioning jam was born. But don't think Dana's waiting for the platinum records to roll in. "It's not for profit, it's just a fun jam," she told us.
In fact, Dana hopes her music-savvy fans will remix the track and is open to new interpretations. "People send me so many creative cool things, and our fans are such artists." So you heard the lady -- put your own spin on the track, once you give it a spin below.
What's next for Ms. Wilkey? Expect to see more of her newly svelte body hitting the single scene (proving once and for all to Ken Todd that she's no longer "the chubby one") while no doubt sporting her finest threads.
