Housewives Reveal Secrets to Their Hot Summer Bodies

Time to bust out the bikinis, sunglasses and the suntan lotion—summer is just around the corner. And if anyone knows how to get in shape—and look sexy—for this season, it's our Real Housewives. From their snacking to their sure-fire exercise regimens, Joanna Krupa, Tamra Judge, Lisa Hochstein and others share how they get in the best shape ever for summer.
The OC star is a fitness fanatic—and has just opened her new C.U.T. Fitness empire—so she knows what it takes to get in fierce bikini shape. When it comes to dieting, she’s not afraid to eat fat—just focus on the good kind. "I eat the yolk in the egg, that's a good fat. Eat an avocado, eat a sweet potato," she's said. A balanced diet is also key— "It's about balancing the right foods and pairing the right foods together...I [once] went on a 'I'm not going to eat carbs, I'm not going to eat fat (diet). I slimmed down but I didn't get the results I wanted."
The Real Housewives of Miami star and model has made a career from maintaining her envious body—but she follows a few easy tips to get in great shape. "I'm not big on breakfast but don't want to miss out on nutrients," she has said. "So I usually have a shot of Mona Vie in the morning. It's an acai juice. It cleanses and really keeps my appetite under control while providing some good amount of antioxidants." She admits she likes to indulge every now and again—sushi and vodka and diet coke are her favorites—but, she warns, "watch the portion and carb intake."
An avid gym-goer, Lisa exercises first thing in the morning. "I tend to get tired at night," she has said. Her routine? "I start every day with 30 to 40 minutes on the elliptical and then some light weights," she's said. "I alternate muscle groups three to four days a week—I'll do biceps and triceps one day, shoulders and back another day—and then I work my abs and calves daily because they are smaller muscle groups and great for defining and accentuating." When it comes to her diet, "no processed foods" and likes to eat "five more small meals [after breakfast] throughout the day and a protein shake after working out to feed my muscles."
The model swears by pilates to keep her lean. "I can't even think about stepping foot on a treadmill," she's said. "I do three times a week and besides that, I stay active by going on bike rides with my kids, walking the dogs, or going for a hike near my home."
For women over 40 who are looking to keep trim, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star "cuts out the carbs at night," she's said, "and never drinks too much."
The Real Housewives of New York City star likes to work out five days a week with a stair master and indoor cycling classes. "I also weight train and use the TRX with my husband," she's said. Watching what she eats is also key. "Everything my family eats at home is organic and pesticide-free, and I load up on veggies, like broccoli and kale, as well as green tea, turmeric, and berries," she says. "I don't do a lot of dairy. I eat a mostly low-carb diet with more vegetables than protein." That's not to say she doesn't indulge when she eats out. "I do love fine restaurants with quality ingredients," she says, "so when my family and I go out, I just eat and enjoy."
