Is This Destination Wedding Idea the Coolest or the Craziest Thing Ever?
It's an Instagram goldmine — but of course there's a catch.
The whole point of getting married is to have an Instagram-worthy big day that makes people super jealous, right? No wait, that’s wrong. But now you can have a destination wedding that both joins you to your one true love forevermore, and also fulfills the the social media swoon-worthiness requirement. And you can have all of this without the traditional hassles of planning a destination event from afar.
Here’s the deal: PopBliss is a new pop-up wedding offering taking place this March in New York City — at a secret location therein. Curated by wedding expert Racquel Kristi, the big day will be set up in lavish manner befitting a Bravolebrity.
Think bridal brunch, welcome party, glam suite, and live-streamed nuptials.
"Our pop-up will tell the story of the journey of these couples through beautiful décor, details inspired by the love stories of the couples, and modern spins on traditional wedding décor," Kristi told us. "In an age where people are doing it for the 'Gram, we aim to give them something beautiful but unique that they’ll want to fill their feed with."
But here’s what’s either the deal killer, or the coolest part, depending on your perspective (or, probably, your birthdate): It’s a group thing. You’ll share the pre-fab big day with nine other couples. Total cost per couple? $5,000. So it’s like crowdsourcing a $50,000 wedding. How very millennial!
Each couple gets 14 in-person guests, and additional friends and family — oh, plus the general public — will have access to the live stream.
Now mull over the verdict: Is this pop-up wedding idea fresh and savvy, or are these couples bound for Untying the Knot?
