James Franco - On Acting

While some celebrities opt for Halloween costumes that are so cute they make us squeal, James Franco would rather make people run and scream. Though the spooky holiday is still days away, the Why Him? actor has already picked out his costume — and he's using it to terrify unsuspecting folks.

Each year, Universal Studios hosts a deliciously creepy evening called Hollywood's Halloween Horror Nights. The park fills with a series of themed mazes and costumed actors pop out to scare people who dare to wander through.

This year, the night included an attraction that was inspired by the classic horror film The Shining. And, guess who was willing to step into the deranged character that Jack Nicholson originally played?

Franco and The Deuce costar Chris Bauer both got into costume with eerie masks and prop axes, and gamely jumped at those unfortunate enough to cross their paths in the spooky maze. Watch the equally hilarious and terrifying footage below.

Franco seemed jazzed after his scary performance, and asked Bauer: "Every year, bro?" In the meantime, this year's Halloween Horror Nights runs at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort through November 4.
