Jill Zarin: Why RHONY is Just Like Summer Camp

Minus the campfires, marshmallows, and Kumbaya.

By Lauren Metz

Those new Summer by Bravo spots might be more accurate than you know. When it came to handling disputes with her blonde counterparts this season, The Real Housewives of New York City's Jill Zarin says she found guidance in her days as a happy camper.

"I make the analogy of Real Housewives like summer camp," she tells AOL. "Some of the girls you get along with all of the time, some of the girls not so much. And some of the girls you sort of want to throw out of the bunk, but since you know you're coming back next summer, you can't and you have to try to get along."

Don't let the red hair fool you — Jill's a natural and proud member of team brunette and has a message for her comrades. "I miss my brunettes, and you know what, call me! We got to have lunch."

Just don't gripe if she serves up a steamy dish of gossip when you're not looking. "I mean, really, the premise of the show is to talk to each other and to talk behind each other's back. So when the women start saying, 'You talked about me,' I think it's so ridiculous because that's what the television show is about. Bunch of hypocrites!"
