John Legend Reveals He and Chrissy Teigen Once Broke Up — for a Whole Half-Hour
The singer reveals that his model wife wouldn't let him break up with her when they were dating.
Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have been together for almost 10 years, have been married for four years and are parents to their adorable 16-month-old daughter Luna, but there was a time when things weren't so perfect and they actually broke up.
Fortunately, the time was only about 30 minutes, as John recalled in an interview with The Guardian.
“I was really stressed and busy,” he revealed. “I was just like: ‘I’d just be happier single right now,’ and she was like: ‘No.’”
He listened and they got back together after less than half an hour; now, he says that she has helped him grow as a person.
“She pushes me to be funnier, not because she’s trying to, I think it’s just being around her. And to be bolder.”
That echoes a similar sentiment he expressed recently in Cosmo when he said, “There’s no problem with openness in our relationship. You know Chrissy. She doesn’t hold anything back! I’m quite reserved, but being with someone like her inspires me to be open about my emotions. She brings them out of me because she’s so open about hers."
