There's a Reason Why Kandi Burruss Has Been Tight-Lipped About the Old Lady Gang Restaurant Opening

The #RHOA singer is making sure everything is "on point" before making any grand announcements.

Kandi Burruss may not be singing it from the rooftops, but her Old Lady Gang restaurant is now open for business. And there's a good reason why The Real Housewives of Atlanta restaurateur is keeping the opening on the DL, for now.

"I want to be open for a month before we do a big grand opening, and that's just because clearly people are just waiting for something negative to say about me," she recently told The Daily Dish. "So I have to make sure my staff is on point and make sure the kitchen is running on point. Everything has to be perfect before we make big announcements. So what I was told, the best thing to do is to do a soft opening, which is just [it's] open without telling people. And then just let the staff serve people and then we know who we need to fire or keep on."

The restaurant has been quite the project for Kandi and husband, Todd Tucker, who took fans inside the sometimes-tense construction of OLG this season on RHOA. But now the couple are ready to have you stop by and try out the food. "So crazy. We went through a lot trying to get everything right with the restaurant, but we finally hired this week so we've been training staff and all of that," Kandi added about the Atlanta eatery.

With doors open for business, the eatery is already becoming a go-to spot for celebrities, like Kandi's longtime BFF and Xscape bandmate, Tiny Harris, who made an appearance there this week.

My lil buddy @majorgirl stopped by @oldladygang to show us some love! Thanks sis!
