John Legend Was "Concerned" About Kanye West Before His Reported Hospitalization
The singer was with the rapper's wife, Kim Kardashian, right before the news broke.
Kanye West's tour-ending rant followed by his reported hospitalization on Monday has caused alarm for many people about the state of the rapper's well-being, including his good friend, John Legend.
The singer spoke to CBS This Morning in an interview that aired Tuesday and said that he and his wife, Chrissy Teigen, were with Kanye's wife, Kim Kardashian, prior to hearing the reports of his hospitalization. "We were with Kim [Kardashian] actually right before all of that," John told CBS This Morning (clip below). "I was concerned by what I saw, so hopefully he's getting some rest and some time to figure things out."
Kim was said to have flown from New York to Los Angeles after the news of her husband's hospitalization broke, according to PEOPLE. She was scheduled to attend the Angel Ball in New York on Monday, which would have been her first public appearance since she was robbed at gunpoint in Paris on October 3.
Kim's mom Kris Jenner offered an update on her son-in-law at the Angel Ball on Monday night. "I think he’s exhausted. Just really tired," she told ET. "It’s a grueling tour."
Many of Yeezy's famous friends and fans have offered messages of love and support for the rapper on social media.
