Kelly Bensimon: My Kids Don't Think I'm Cool

Kelly Bensimon is a model, equestrian, author, editor, and designer. She's a star of The Real Housewives of New York City, dates gorgeous men, donates to charities regularly, eats gummi bears, and even posed for Playboy. You'd think her resume would be strong enough to make her the world's hippest mom, but her daughters Sea Louis, 12, and Thaddeus "Teddy" Ann, 10, disagree.

"They tell me to wait outside the school and not come in and not to embarrass them," Kelly tells People. "I'm like, 'I'm not even saying anything!'"

Aw, Kelly! We may think she's cool and that she's a great mom, but Sea and Teddy are tough critics. "They think I'm their mom, and because I'm their mom, I'm not really cool. But their friends like me, so I guess my cool factor is like a two on a [scale of] one to ten – better than a zero."

Kelly knows that it's natural for kids to feel embarrassed by their parents, and is taking pride in the Uncool Mom title. She tells reporters that he has a great time with her children and hopes that the girls can learn from her as both a mother and a career woman.

"For them it's something very aspirational," she said. "You know, there are different chapters in your life and that's what I want them to know."

If you think Sea and Teddy are on to something, let us ask you this: Would an uncool mom be tweeting from the Disney store in the middle of the day? We think not!
