Kenya Moore Announces Her Pregnancy

Kenya Moore is now the proud mom of a little twirl. The Real Housewives of Atlanta entrepreneur welcomed her first child, daughter Brooklyn Doris Daly, with husband Marc Daly on Sunday, November 4 at 9:39 a.m., PEOPLE confirmed. Kenya and Marc's baby girl weighs 5 pounds and 12 ounces.

Kenya and Marc gave their daughter a very sentimental name. “Brooklyn because that’s where we met and fell in love, and Doris after my grandmother who passed away last year and who raised me,” Kenya told PEOPLE, adding that “Brooklyn is very alert and active.”

The RHOA alum is doing well, according to PEOPLE, but the baby arrived sooner than her Thanksgiving due date via emergency cesarean section. Kenya revealed on Instagram last week that she had tested positive for possible preeclampsia, which can cause major swelling and high blood pressure in pregnant women, which indicated that she might have to be induced early.

Kenya surprised her fellow Atlanta Housewives and Andy Cohen at the Season 10 reunion when she announced that she was expecting her first child. “We will definitely be welcoming a boy or girl in late this year,” she shared.

The RHOA entrepreneur has long been open with fans about her desire to start a family. She took fans along on her visits to the doctor to explore starting a family last season of RHOA. Kenya ultimately underwent IVF to get pregnant with her first child.

In the months following her pregnancy announcement, Kenya has shared the joys of pregnancy with all of her fans, giving a look at her emotional ultrasound appointments, showing off how gorgeous she looks with her baby bump, and taking fans inside her prep for bringing home Baby Daly. Of course, Kenya has also made time to hang with her fellow Georgia Peaches, like Cynthia Bailey and Kandi Burruss, during her pregnancy.

Kenya just couldn’t contain her excitement for becoming a mom, and her loved ones knew that she would be more than ready for the role when the big day finally arrived. “Everyone is excited," Kenya told PEOPLE in April. "My dad is so happy. And two of my aunts told me they envisioned that I was going to be with child before I confirmed it! Everyone in my life, they tell me I’m a nurturing person and going to be the most awesome mother. They see something in me that they know that’s going to be true.”
