Kyle Richards Says Kim Richards' Return to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills "Saved" Her

The #RHOBH mom thinks being on the show has helped her sister deal with her personal issues.

This Season on #RHOBH...

Though Kim Richards momentarily stepped away from filming Season 6 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in order to deal with some personal issues, such as seeking treatment for substance abuse, she'll appear later this season, as the supertease above shows. However, some people have criticized Kim for her decision to appear on a reality show like RHOBH where she is often around other people drinking.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on Peacock and the Bravo App.

But Kim's sister Kyle Richards thinks appearing on RHOBH has actually helped her overcome these challenges. "You know, a lot of people think that being on reality television is not a good thing for my sister Kim, but I actually think the opposite, and she agrees," Kyle told TMZ Live on Tuesday. "You know, in a lot of ways the show has saved Kim."

Kyle went on to say that although being on RHOBH exposed her substance abuse problem, having it out there in the open helped her deal with it head on. "You know, it kind of brought her issues to light, but it also forced her to go and get the help she needed and face her issues. You know, it was like somewhere to get up every day and be accountable," Kyle explained. "So in many ways, the show was good for my sister Kim. But, you know, it is still stressful no matter what."

The Daily Dish recently spoke with Kyle about what it was like to start filming on a new season of RHOBH without her sister for the first time. "It felt really weird starting the show this season without my sister. We started this together and she's a very big part of the show and, obviously, apart of my life," Kyle said. "It felt very strange, but the timing just wasn't right because she was taking care of herself, and, so, it took some getting used to."
