Kristen Doute: I'm Writing a Memoir
The Vanderpump Rules star dishes on her first book, Smeared Eyeliner and Broken Bank Accounts.
The second season of Vanderpump Rules is coming to a close—the Reunion kicks off tonight at 9/8c!—and now that Kristen Doute has a bit more free time, she's getting to work on a new project: a memoir.
Kristen tells the Dish that she's well underway with her first tome, titled Smeared Eyeliner and Broken Bank Accounts: a Surreal Life. "It's a little bit about my life on the show, living in L.A. over the last six years, and what it's like to be a transplant from the midwest," Kristen, who grew up in Dearborn, MI, says. "It's also about being in a relationship with [Tom Sandoval] for six years. And all that chaos."
So far, Kristen says she has most of the chapter outlines done, but there is no set date for publication just yet.
As she continues to hammer out copy—"A lot has gotten done over the last few weeks," she says—she has Tom to credit for some inspiration. "I'll give him props for giving me part of the title," she says. "It was just a random thing he said one day: Smeared Eyeliner and Broken Hearts. And it was like a lightbulb went off."
