He's back! Kroy Biermann is officially playing for the Atlanta Falcons again. And, yes, his wife Kim Zolciak is pretty excited about the news.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta star congratulated her defensive end husband on social media on Thursday. "Very excited my hubby @kroybiermann has re-signed with @atlantafalcons," she wrote on Instagram. "Going to be a great 2015."
Kroy returned to the field last season after he injured himself in September 2013. He tore his Achilles tendon and had to sit out a majority of the 2013-2014 season. He underwent surgery that same month. According to AJC.com, after Kroy returned to the field with his team, he went on to lead them in sacks last season.
"Pumped to be back with @AtlantaFalcons and excited for the new things happening!!" Kroy tweeted after news broke of his re-upping with the Falcons.
Before his return to the field last fall, Kroy opened up about what he missed most while he was recovering from his injury.
"Running around that edge and having that contact, I missed that," he told ESPN at the time. "I mean, I had been pushing sleds and I had been doing things in my rehab process to test it against weight and against contact. But just feels good to have the pads on and out there playing football instead of doing rehab."
