13 Things You Didn't Know About Lala Kent

We've seen a lot of Lala Kent this season onVanderpump Rules. She's had flirtations with both Jax Taylor and James Kennedy, showed off her singing ability, and let's not forget that kiss she shared with the female SURvers during a sleepover. For a rookie, Lala has basically left stone unturned. But there's still a lot viewers should know about the hostess. Below, get to know the 25-year-old Utah native a bit better. 

She Wasn't Always Lala

Back in the day, she was known as Lauryn Kent. 

She Has Something in Common with Katie Maloney

Both SURvers hail from Utah. Before settling in L.A., Lauryn grew up in Salt Lake City and she often tweets about her hometown. 

She's Actually Pretty Traditional

Lala may come off as a free spirit on the show (see above for some proof), but she's damn near old-fashioned when it comes to her views on marriage and family. "I take marriage seriously," she told Heavy. "My parents have been together for 35 years, through thick and thin. I haven’t ever been married, but I still hold that title sacred." 

And Her Family Definitely Has Her Back

She's managed to stir the pot during her short tenure on Vanderpump Rules, but it's pretty clear that the Kents support her no matter what.  

She's a Mama's Girl

It seems that not even distance can keep Lala from professing how awesome Mama Kent is.

She's Her Own Woman, Not "the New Stassi"

Lala isn't keen on anyone comparing her to Stassi. She considers herself a completely independent person and she wants fans to see her that way as well. But that doesn't mean she won't give props to Vanderpump Rules' OG bad girl.

She's Done Some Acting... 

Lala's admitted it's not her true passion, but she has appeared in several film and TV projects, including the flick Dudes & Dragons alongside Luke Perry. "I would say my most proud moment was when I made out with Luke Perry," she revealed on the Vanderpump Rules After Show back in December. "I show up [and] I'm like, 'It's a little cute little low-budget film, let's get it in.' I'm 20 years old; it's an experiment for making out with an older man. No one had ever told me it was Luke Perry." 

And Has a Natural Singing Voice

She previously showed off her vocal chops alongside pal James Kennedy this season, as well as on the Vanderpump Rules After Show. A release date for their song "Feeling You" has yet to be announced. 

She's an Animal Activist

Not only does she have pets, but Lala passionately uses her voice on social media to spread the word about the treatment of Orcas in captivity.

She's a Homebody

She might be out and about booking club gigs with James, but Lala has also made it clear that she loves nothing more than staying in.

She's Obsessed with the Kardashians

Like everyone else, Lala can't help but keep up with reality TV's first family.

She's Got Posing Skills

It's not a secret that Lala models. (We all remember that one of her gigs caused quite a stir at the beginning of this season.) According to her Model Mayhem profile, she's 5'7'', which she says is the reason why you won't see her on any runways. "Because of my height I only do print work," Lala explained to Heavy. "I’ve worked on anything from Nike to Comedy Central. David Spade is a close friend of mine, so he involves me in some of his fun projects. Acting was never something I was truly passionate about. I’ve done a little here and there, but nothing dope." 

She's a Fashionista 

But she doesn't love just high-end brands. "I am soooo not fancy. I don’t look at labels at all—If I like it I buy it. I’ll look at anything from Dior to Forever 21. I usually go insane online shopping and on Melrose!" Lala told Big Blonde Hair. "I find so much on Melrose for such a good deal, and who doesn’t love a deal?"
