'Malibu Country' Star Sara Rue Weighs In on Controversy
Was Heather Dubrow right all along?
Of all the blowups that happened on Season 8 of The Real Housewives of Orange County, perhaps none spun more out of control than Heather Dubrow and Gretchen Rossi's Malibu Country debacle. Now, Malibu Country star Sara Rue offers her take on the debate.
First, some background: Heather was offered a guest spot on the since-canceled sitcom, but Gretchen also claimed she was offered a role and was asked to film on the same day as Tamra Barney's dress shopping trip. Gretchen insisted that she turned down the offer in order to be there for Tamra, but Heather said that Malibu Country wasn't even scheduled to film that day, casting doubt on Gretchen's claims. But as we saw in Part Two of the reunion, Gretchen whipped out the voice mail from her agent to prove her case, adding fuel to the fire.
So what does Rue think about all this? The actress, who played Kim, the neighbor of Reba McEntire's character, has tweeted her thoughts.
So my 2 cents is this: @HeatherDubrow had it all correct as far as I know... But small fun fact, I did base my character mostly on Gretchen.— Sara Rue (@SARARUEFORREAL) August 20, 2013
There you have it. At least Gretchen has some comfort in knowing that she was still on the show—kind of!
