Famous faces filled the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of I, Tonya. But even the stars of the film — which tells the life story of former Olympic figure skater Tonya Harding — were star-struck when Harding herself emerged.

The 47-year-old former ice skater joined Margot Robbie, who portrays Harding in the film, in front of the sea of photographers stationed on the red carpet. Harding wore a floor-length black gown with orange accents, while Robbie wore a glittering dress by Versace.

When Harding joined her for a photo op, Robbie reportedly said, "Amazing!" and the two women laughed, embraced, and chatted as shutterbugs snapped away.

Robbie wasn't alone in her excitement over Harding's appearance. Sebastian Stan plays Harding's ex-husband Jeff Gillooly in the film, and told People: "I don’t know if I should even say ‘Hi’ to [Tonya], I mean, I play Jeff! I’m totally star-struck right now.” Allison Janney, who portrays Harding's mother LaVona, had a similar response: “Wow, this is incredible,” she said.

The audience inside the Egyptian Theatre was no less in awe: Harding reportedly received a standing ovation when she came out onstage after the film had screened. The hotly anticipated flick is slated for a December 8 release.

The only question is: If Robbie gets nominated for an Oscar this year, will she bring Harding as her date? The two seemed to hit it off! And, during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Janney said, "I think people will feel a lot more sympathy for [Tonya] after seeing [the film.]"
