Most of us can agree that Thanksgiving is all about family, turkey, and football. But for some people, the fourth Thursday of November is dedicated to celebrating the most beautiful and best-trained dogs in the country.
Every Thanksgiving, the broadcast of the National Dog Show hosted by the Kennel Club of Philadelphia airs following the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade at 12 p.m. on NBC. This prestigious canine competition is basically a beauty pageant for purebred pooches, ultimately awarding the entrants with the best fur and form the honors of "Best in Breed," "First in Group," and the top title of "Best in Show."
Though it's always impressive to see how well-groomed and well-behaved these pups are, we think that the many critters owned by Bravolebs also deserve some recognition this Thanksgiving. Not only are they adorable and entertaining to watch on TV, but they also bring light into the lives of their Bravoleb owners — and ours as well. If there were ever to be a Bravo Dog Show, here are the prizes we would award some of our favorite pooches.
1. Most Like a Real Person - Lisa Vanderpump's Giggy
"I'm coming back as Giggy, that's for sure," Lisa Vanderpump once said regarding what form she'd like to return in after reincarnation. Considering how fabulous Giggy is, we'd have to say Lisa made the right decision. The fact of the matter is Giggy lives a life of luxury that's more akin to what a multi-millionaire would experience than a dog. He's quite the fashionista, always looking dapper in some opulent outfit. But more importantly, he is a celebrity in his own right with his own website and social media accounts. Not only is Giggy a TV star, frequently appearing on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and usually by Lisa's side during her TV appearances, but he's also often seen rubbing elbows (paws?) with A-listers. What can we say? Giggy loves the glamorous life, and the glamorous life loves Giggy.
2. Most Colorful Canine - Fredrik Eklund's Mini Mouse
Fredrik Eklund's puppy may be named Mini Mouse, but she serves up some mighty color. She has a shiny coat made of a vivid mixture of black, white, brown, and orange fur, light pink fingernails, a brown eye, and a blue eye. All in all, Mini Mouse looks incredibly exotic, but she's right at home with this Million Dollar Listing New York agent.
3. Sassiest Dog - Bethenny Frankel's Cookie
No one has a biting wit like Bethenny Frankel, so it's no surprise that her Lhasa Apso mix Cookie can be a bit of a diva sometimes, too. Well, at least according to the captions on Instagram that seem to match her body language and facial expressions perfectly. Whether she's poo-pooing the politics section, cruising around the Big Apple, or looking for her cut of Bethenny's paycheck, this dog is one tough Cookie.
4. Best Late-Night Sidekick - Andy Cohen's Wacha
Since Andy Cohen adopted Wacha, the beagle mix has had almost as big of a presence on Watch What Happens Live as the host himself. Wacha often joins Andy on WWHL to do things like get a quick embrace from his owner, attack another famous canine, or help pay homage to Liam Neeson. Wacha is such a perfect addition to WWHL, it's almost hard to remember what the show was like before he came along.
5. Most Controversial Name - Mercedes Javid's Toya
Mercedes "MJ" Javid's chihuahua is too cute to not love, but that hasn't stopped her from stirring up a little drama between some of the Married to Medicine ladies. MJ has said in the past that her dog Toya looks like Married to Medicine's Toya Bush-Harris, which caused a bit of a shade match between her castmates Heavenly Kimes and Quad Webb-Lunceford on WWHL earlier this year over whether that was a compliment or an insult from the Shahs of Sunset star. We may never know the intention behind MJ's naming, but we can all agree that canine Toya has a face you can't stay mad at for too long — or ever, really.
6. Most Likely to Be Man's Best Friend - Kim Zolciak-Biermann's Sinatra
The Zolciak-Biermanns got Sinatra, a.k.a. Sinn, as a family dog, but he seems to have taken a particular liking to Don't Be Tardy's Kroy Biermann and vice versa. The fact that Sinn can keep up with pro football player Kroy may have something to do with it. But even when they're just hanging out, these two look like the best of buds.
7. Dog with the Coolest Co-Owners - Carole Radziwill's Baby
Having Carole Radziwill as your owner would be amazing enough, but the golden doodle of the RHONY author also gets some lovin' from another source. Carole shares her dog with model RJ King, who is also the brother of The Real Housewives of Orange County's Meghan King Edmonds. It looks like Baby's dad's knack for working it in front of the camera has rubbed off on the little pup, too.
8. Dog with the Best Attitude - Dina Manzo's Gracie
Dina Manzo's dog Gracie unfortunately only has her two front legs as a result of inbreeding, but she hasn't let something like that slow her down at all. Gracie looks like the happiest pup ever, whether she's getting around like a normal dog on her two rear legs, posing for the camera, or goofing around. Anyone would be lucky to have a dog like Gracie.
9. Miss Photogenic - Joanna Krupa's Darla
The Real Housewives of Miami's Joanna Krupa not only uses her Instagram feed to help spread the word about animal adoption, but she also uses it to post pics of her four-legged friends, especially her dog Darla. Whether she's dressed to the nines, off running errands, or just hanging out at home, Darla definitely knows how to take a gorgeous photo. Watch out, Joanna. You have some competition in the modeling department.
10. Biggest Furballs - Sonja Morgan's Rouge and Marly
From watching RHONY, we know that Sonja Morgan loves her dogs, and it's easy to see why. We would expect Sonja to have perfectly coiffed canines, but Rouge and Marly take their hair game to a whole new level. Don't you want to just pick these furballs up and cuddle with them forever?
