NeNe Leakes Is 'Free at Last' on RHOA

The 'Atlanta' tall channels Martin Luther King Jr. to explain Kim Zolciak's departure.

By Mike Hess

Nene Leakes has had quite the week dueling it out with Kim Zolciak as the two continue to bicker about the reasons behind Kim's Real Housewives of Atlanta exodus. Kim tells us that she just needed a change and her focus is now on her family. Nene says not so much -- and in her new blog, Nene's opting for brevity ... and a bit of history.

Describing last night's big episode in which Kim storms out of a lunch and essentially leaves the show altogether, Nene opens her blog with a blanket statement regarding the incident as well as her relationships with the others on the show: "Silence is golden, speaking out can be freeing, lies can be damaging, and laughter makes the heart grow fonder, which is what I like to do with these ladies, but I can't say they do the same. Some of them take themselves too seriously and others, well, you have two good eyes, so I know you can see these ladies for who they really are!"

She says that she's "choosing to be silent about most of this episode" because there isn't a whole lot else to say, but does manage to close with this zinger that kinda-sorta breaks her silence embargo: "Kim storms out of the brunch: free at last, free at last, thank God almighty, we are free at last!"
