Newlyweds' Jeff and Blair "Thrilled" About DOMA

"Today is a day like no other," Blair says of historic Supreme Court decision.

By Kevin O'Donnell

Fredrik Eklund is celebrating the Supreme Court's decision to strike down the Defense of Marriage Act. And now Newlyweds The First Year couple Jeff Pedersen and Blair Late are sharing their joy, too.

The couple also have another reason to be excited about today's news: with SCOTUS' decision to overturn California's Prop 8 law, the two are now hoping to get married in their home state.

"Jeff and I are THRILLED!" Blair shared with the Dish. "We have been hugging and crying in bed all morning!!!!! I can't believe this! FINALLY, our rights are equal to everyone else! Not to mention we can get married in our own state of California now! So don't you worry. We are having a Palm Springs Wedding!!!!"

Blair also took a moment to thank fans of the show for their compassion and support. "Thank you Bravo fans and watchers for letting us into your home and for accepting us! Today is a day like no other, a day of equal love, rights, and acceptance! Now it's time to walk the streets of NYC and love and hug others!!!"
