Porsha Stewart Dishes on Dating After Divorce
Find out what kind of man the RHOA star is looking for—and how she feels about putting him on-camera.
It's been 10 months since Porsha Stewart's ex, former NFL star Kordell Stewart, filed for divorce. And after going through a lot of soul-searching, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star says she's starting to date again—and is enjoying every minute of it.
"I love it!" she tells the Dish. "But I'm just having a good time right now. I'm having fun, feeling free-spirited. Some people are getting more attention than others, however I'm keeping my options open."
Although she's been paying a little more attention to one lucky guy in particular, she's not ready to reveal his identity because things are still so fresh. "I'm newly single and I do believe in love and I wouldn’t mind being in a serious relationship again—but I'm definitely not rushing it," she adds. "And I'm in no rush to put it out there until I know we're absolutely solid."
Porsha says it took a long time to get to a place where she wanted to date again following her devastating split after two-and-a-half years of marriage—or where she could be at peace knowing her ex was playing the field again as well.
"Everybody deserves love," she reasons (Kordell is reportedly seeing Towanda Braxton). "But I'm proud of myself. I'm enjoying the company, the compliments, the attention, and I'm enjoying being spoiled. I'm out here working hard and making things happen for myself. It's just great to be able to feel like a woman when you're around a real man. I love that."
Porsha—who's also been busy preparing to launch her first single, "Flatline," in a few weeks—says there's one thing that instantly impresses her about guys: confidence. "I love a man who just oozes confidence and self-awareness, and who's successful and is all about family," she reveals. "Just someone who loves life, has positive energy, and a great sense of humor, because I don’t take myself too seriously."
When she finds Mr. Right, she says she'll have to think long and hard about asking him to join her on RHOA after her last experience. "You really have to have a strong foundation and really, really be totally supportive of each other when you decide to put it in the public eye like that," she explains. "We'd have to be really strong and in a serious, serious relationship. And he would have to want it too—most successful men don’t want to be on a reality show, they don’t benefit from that."
