Reports of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams's arrest hit the web Monday and now she's telling her side of the story.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta on Peacock and the Bravo App.

In a statement to Dish Nation, where she is c-ohost of the Rickey Smiley Morning Show, Porsha explains, "I was headed to visit my grandfather who is very ill with cancer in the hospital, and I was pulled over."

Porsha, who is smiling in her make-up free mugshot, expressed remorse for her dangerous actions. "I was wrong for speeding absolutely and apologize for putting anyone at risk."

Despite initial reports that she was driving with a suspended license, Porsha maintains in her statement, "I tried to explain the situation to the officer and show him that all my paperwork was in order, but he refused...I was released, I have my license, my car, and my freedom."

Porsha also noted, "Handcuffs are not comfortable or a good look for anyone." Agreed!

It seems Porsha isn't letting the incident get her down. This morning she posted a beaming selfie with her sister Lauren on their way out of town for a wedding.
