'Pregnant in Heels' Nominated for GLAAD Award

Exclusive: Rosie Pope talks about her show getting an Outstanding Reality Program nod.

By Mike Hess

Rosie Pope isn't just getting couples ready for a baby -- she's snagging award nominations along the way!

Rosie's Pregnant in Heels has earned a GLAAD Media Awards nomination for Outstanding Reality Program thanks to its "Welcome to Hollywood" episode in which Rosie lends a helping hand to couple Victor and Chris. The two dads had daughter Kiki through a surrogate, and needed a bit of advice as to what kind of fabulous gift they could give to the woman who just gave them the gift of life.

Speaking with The Dish exclusively, Rosie says that getting a nod for this episode is "especially great because our show is primarily a show about parents and families, and it's highlighting that there can be different types of families." She goes on to say that Victor and Chris were her "least crazy couple" out of the show's second season because "they had their priorities in order. For them it was just about they always wanted to be parents, and that wasn't always an easy road. They were lovely to work with because it wasn't the normal couple who can sometimes not really appreciate being pregnant."

Ultimately, moving the discussion forward on same-sex parents is something Rosie is proud to be a part of, telling us that "it's great to see alternative type families and how different they can be. I think for everybody entering parenting and motherhood/fatherhood can be a very scary time. There's a lot of judgmental people out there, and our brand is to help them figure it out."
