On Thursday, iconic musician Prince passed away at the age of 57. According a TMZ report, the singer's body was discovered at his famed Chanhassen, Minnesta compound, Paisley Park, on April 21, according to sources. A cause of death is unknown, but on April 15 the musician's plane had to make an emergency landing in Illinois. At the time he said he was battling the flu and despite the setback, he appeared at a concert the next day. However, prior to his death, he had canceled two shows due to health concerns. His publicist later confirmed the news of his death to the Associated Press.

Born Prince Rogers Nelson in 1958, the Minneapolis native was a skilled singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and actor who became known for his flamboyant and eccentric persona. He won seven Grammys, an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, and sold over 100 million records during his illustrious career, which included the release of unforgettable singles like "Purple Rain," "1989," and "When Doves Cry."

Following the news of his passing, he was remembered by celebrities on social media.
