Rachel Zoe Reveals Inspiration Behind Fashion Line

"I've grown up a lot," the new designer confides.

Think Rachel Zoe's fashion line – dropping in stores this month – will be filled with her signature boho chic style? Think again.

"I wanted androgyny and the powerful woman look. I've grown up a lot," the Rachel Zoe Project star explains to The Los Angeles Times. "I wanted an amazing white tuxedo for under $1,000 and a cocktail dress for under $500."

Turns out, Rachel's design debut is more like a mix of iconic female style. "It's very Jane Birkin-y and Anjelica Huston-y and Bianca Jagger-y, with a splash of sequins, a little Liza Minnelli, thrown in," the new mom says.

She should feel proud: Rachel's other baby is already a hit in La La Land, and RZ's even spotted her designs roaming around town. "I can't believe how kind and gracious stylists in L.A. have been, pulling my designs. I figured since I was a stylist, and they're stylists, they wouldn't want it."

Catch Rachel back in action when The Rachel Zoe Project returns Sept. 6.
